David Frum: Steele: Right the first time
The New Majority ^ | March 2, 2009 | David Frum

Posted on 03/03/2009 2:22:19 PM PST by EveningStar

Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele had it right the first time.

Appearing on the DL Hughley show on CNN, Steele quipped that Rush Limbaugh was not the leader of the Republican party – Steele was.

Then Steele used the words “ugly” and “incendiary” to describe either Limbaugh’s program or Limbaugh’s speech to CPAC.

Frum wrote a great book about the history of the 1970s...”how we got here” I think is the title.

That being said, his attacks on Rush, a fellow conservative, are stupid.

Michael Steele has been around long enough to know that the liberal media will use him by twisting what I say or what others say. He took the bait, he bit down hard on the bait, he launched an attack on me even though the premise of what was said to him was false. He took the bait and he went for it. Now, Mr. Steele, if it is your position as the chairman of the Republican National Committee that you want a left wing Democrat president and a left wing Democrat Congress to succeed in advancing their agenda, if it’s your position that you want President Obama and Speaker Pelosi and Senate Leader Harry Reid to succeed with their massive spending and taxing and nationalization plans, I think you have some explaining to do. Why are you running the Republican Party? Why do you claim you lead the Republican Party when you seem obsessed with seeing to it that President Obama succeeds? I frankly am stunned that the chairman of the Republican National Committee endorses such an agenda. I have to conclude that he does because he attacks me for wanting it to fail. - Rush

The Rockefeller Wing of the party, having saddled us with McCain in 2008, thinks the solution to that defeat is to do more of what failed.

Which makes them right at home with the liberal mindset.

Frum is a neocon. The sooner that conservatives dump the neocons, who have almost singlehandedly destroyed the GOP, over the side the better.

It wasn’t a matter of taking the bait. Steele knew perfectly well what he is doing. Some of us have been warning about him for a long time.

Frum was making fun of Limbaugh’s appearance, weight and such. Does anyone have a photo of this clown, David Frum? As I remember, he would make Porky Pig look like Stallone when he played Rocky by comparison.

All this attention on Rush has done us all a great service. It not only increases his listening audience numbers, but RINO scum continues coming to the surface for all to see. Cleaning them out one at a time!

Frum says Rush is misguided because people will take him the wrong way. So instead of criticizing those who cannot understand a simple statement by Rush, he goes on to criticize Rush for making the statement. Something wrong here?

Wasn’t Frum part of that whole neo-Con A.E.I. / Bill Kristol / Paul Wolfowitz cabal ?

The only way Frum gets mentioned these days is when he names someone relevant like Limbaugh. How far the mighty leftist elite has fallen. LOL

David, checked out what your messiah has down to the markets lately?

Frum says Rush is misguided. What a Tomfool Jerk.
Rush couldn’t be more spot on right.
Steele was a jerk and moron for criticizing Rush, and now he’d being a typical “that’s not what I meant” politician.
Steele is a RINO and Rush could be the next Ronald Reagan.

Frum is not a “fellow conservative” by any stretch. He’s a limp-wristed, big-government globalist who is angry at Rush Limbaugh because he (Frum) is perfectly comfortable with much of the Obama agenda.

Frum making fun of Limbaugh’s appearance is like Kermit the Frog making fun of Porky the Pig’s appearance.

According to this quiz, I'm a neocon too. I just don't like Frum's attacks on Rush.

I'm not one of those who thinks that Rush is above criticism either. And he's not my intellectual leader.
