John McCain's daughter, Meghan, having trouble dating after campaign
New York Daily News ^ | Tuesday, March 3rd 2009 | Michael Saul

Meghan McCain, who cozied up to Samuel (Joe the Plumber) Wurzelbacher last October, says her dates have been creepy disasters since her father's run for President.

From the date who complimented her dinner order as a "maverick choice" to the guy who creepily remarked she would look hot in her mom's pearls, the daughter of John McCain concludes that the 2008 presidential race "killed my personal life."

"I fear the election has destroyed my ability and desire to date," McCain, 24, wrote in a lighthearted blog essay Monday on the Daily Beast. "Nothing kills my libido quite like discussing politics."

She is turned off by people who voted for President Obama. She also gets the willies from obsessive supporters of her dad.

She loses interest "when I find my father's face staring back at me on a potential date's Facebook page," she explained.

"I don't want to see my father's picture near any picture of a guy I am attracted to, especially if we haven't even had dinner yet."

The election inevitably comes up in dating conversation, she wrote. If a guy starts talking about Obama, her mind wanders. Her father's fans are just as annoying because "I don't want to date someone who idealizes my dad."

The smooth talker who called her menu selection mavericky also dropped this cheesy line: "Wow, straight talking must run in the family."

Groused Meghan: "It's like someone taking Lisa Marie Presley out on a date and singing 'Hound Dog' in the middle of dinner."

She can sense within 30 seconds of meeting a guy whether he only wants to brag to his buddies that he had a date with "John McCain's daughter."

And then there's the apparent admirer of her mother who "told me I could be 'his Cindy.'"

He "asked me if I ever wore pearls because they probably would look as good on me as they do on my mother," she wrote.

Ewwwwww.

"No, I'm not kidding. Any guy that has a fetish for older women in pantsuits and large pearls obviously only finds my last name attractive about me."

The dating doldrums have left the 2007 Columbia University graduate spending more free time writing and hanging out with girlfriends.

"So to all the fathers out there: If you want your daughters to be single in her 20s, I can say this - run for President."

Hands off my girl Joe.

Its amazing how two people can hear the same thing and come to such different conclusions. When I read this story, the first thing I notice is "hot chick calls Obama her #1 turn-off." Then I remember how much John McCain has always turned me off personally, and I think Meghan and I may have a love connection.

Meghan may be a self-described social liberal, but she's clearly Not Guilty! If she needs a little bit of romance, I know someone who can shut his mouth about politics if he has to.

This is a perfect illustration of whats wrong with American girls. Selfish, princesses that think the world revolves around them. Never satisfied, always looking for a way to make the guy look bad.

IMHO.

Somebody on Daily Beast might want to point Meghan in the direction of this site. She’ll find plenty of guys who don’t, um, idolize her father here.

She didn’t mention if she’s put off when a guy tells her, “Why don’t you be a doll and go fetch me a Bud.”

It’s amazing how many guys there are out there, who think they are the only ones to come up with clever inside jokes. Don’t these guys realize that McCain’s daughter has probably heard every comment possible about her dad and Obama?

Good grief. Date the girl and find something else to talk about. Enough already...

John and Barack would be the last two people on my mind if I were out with her... ;-)
