I am trying to capture the spirit of bipartisanship as practiced by the Democratic Party over the last eight years.
Thus, I have chosen as my lead, the proposition: Obama lied; the economy died. Obviously, I am borrowing this from the Democratic Party theme of 2003-08: "Bush lied, people died." There are, of course, two differences between the two slogans.
Most importantly, I chose to separate the two clauses with a semicolon rather than a coma because the rule of grammar is that a semicolon rather than a coma) should be used between closely related independent clauses not conjoined with a coordinating conjunction. In the age of Barack Obama, there is little more important than maintaining the integrity of our language - against the onslaught of Orwellian language abuse that is already a babbling brook, and will soon be a cataract of verbal deception.
The other difference is that George W. Bush didn't lie about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. He was merely mistaken. Whereas President Obama told a whopper last week when he claimed he was not for bigger government.

Sick but not terminal. 0bama stepped in and tied the breathing tube in a knot.
Once it became evident that zerO would win, things went downhill, faster.
While Bush was rolled on TARP I, it was orchestrated by liberals in his administration. We might even have survived it, if not for the subsequent blitzkrieg of bailouts, tax hikes, ill-informed outdated central command economic policies, EOs, bills, rules and laws that have flooded us out in the past 2+ months.
Most of the poison came from the donk congress and the whole thing began, although slowly, after the 2006 midterm win by the Ds.
IMO, many well-meaning idiots voted for zerO out of totally misguided emotional reaction to the first series of bailouts and rescues. Maybe it was to prove to themselves that they weren’t racists. Maybe it was BDS. Maybe it was the liberalness of the GOP, making it seem moot which party gained control.
But, zerO has lied repeatedly and not been called on it, His administration is full of frauds and he is the chief fraud. No matter who was rolled by whom and when. We can sort that out later on, if we survive this. Right now, things suck in a most frightening manner and we need to quickly sort it out. To make it even more frightening, we seem to have to rely on the Appropriations Committees in Congress. Everyone needs to bury their donk critter and Senators in complaints and let them know they won’t be re-elected if they don’t stop this. I have 3 of them and I know they seem oblivious, but they do need to keep their jobs, since most are incompetent at everything.
Even so, we both know that the world won't collapse if a word is misspelled or a punctuation mark is added or dropped or mis-used in a piece of journalism...
“Another phony pretending he never heard this before. Michael Savage was the first person to say this. This clown is just pretending he is clever. Dont fall for it.”
For the record, I think I said it first, right here on FR. I’ll have to check my history. Savage - and Blankley - owe me a royalty every-time they use it.
We can go a lot further with this thought:
OBAMA LIES; AMERICA DIES!
Well I DID say it twice, here on FR, on Dec 1st. I was poking fun before, but the point is, this is such an obvious re-work of that liberal mantra that to claim credit for it is sorta kinda silly.
It's more personal.
Speaking of Obama and language - Obama promised not to raise taxes on the middle class. He is “rolling back the Bush tax cuts” and taxing energy. We’ll be paying more taxes than we did last year, but thanks to Obama-Speak our taxes weren’t increased.
All of them. Every human civilization has grown by relying on stalwart men and the women who stand with them. Every civilization has then become soft and complacent and the stalwarts have been marginalized and sidelined by the soft clever ones. They eventually sap the life from the society and it all comes crashing down. There are no exceptions. That said, it's still better to be of good cheer than not. And it is definitely not in season to discard the few people on our side creatively and aggressively thinking, as I perceive your last post to do. Besides, it is politically suicidal to abandon the only political force not averse to even working with you. The Republican Party may not be as stalwart and Stoic as you appear to prefer, but they are streets more so than the alternative, which is the force working to undermine social order so they can dominate and feed off it. I don't like the alternatives, but no others of any credible status present themselves (short of the Second Coming). So, be of good cheer and call the current pres__dent by the name he seems so assiduously to covet: Mickey Bricks.
"Zimmerman Flew, Tyler Knew"
I believe Ive just found my new tagline. :-)

I just changed mine yesterday.
I am attempting to restrain my occasional urge to be a grammar policeman also. Along that line of thinking I had an unusual experience this morning, I posted a response on FR in which I used the word horde to refer to a group of people, no sooner had I posted it than I began to think that I had used the wrong word, I was tempted to post a message apologizing for my error. Finally I looked up the definition of horde and realized that I had used the correct word and spelling after all.
Now I realize what my dad meant when he used to day, “The only mistake I ever made is one time when I thought I had made a mistake but I really hadn’t.” Of course he always said this with tongue planted firmly in cheek.
That’s excellent, Phil!
And...so true!
I listen to all sides. Maybe you should try that and keep an open mind instead of listening to Bush bots like Rush. Keep in mind I still like Rush even though he carried the water for the Republicans. Rush finally admits it.
If you have a link that proves it, then ok then :-)
I don’t listen to both anymore, but I used to listen to Savage, but I got sick of him coming up with some term or phrase that was already in widespred usage on the internet or elsewhere and then claiming it as his original thought. Also, his rambelings about impeaching Bush and dietary supplaments etc., eventually led me to conclude the man was unhinged. It’s small wonder that Levin is cleaning his clock everywhere they go head to head.
