WASHINGTON (CNN) Republican Sen. John McCain and Democratic Sen. Byron Dorgan plan to introduce legislation to create a Senate panel to investigate the causes of the financial crisis, McCains office said in a statement Monday.
If approved, the committee would also make recommendations about how to avoid a similar crisis in the future.

And this sounds like CYA for Dorgan -- not McCain. The problem with McCain is that I fear he is clueless enough to give the Dems a chance for CYA.

Too bad there was no McCain-Obama act passed. That would have been poetic.Obama was a cosponsor on the climate change legislation several times, I think...but the two primray sponsors were McCain and Lieberman, and then Lieberman and (John) Warner.
