Check out the video below, where WKYC investigative reporter Tom Meyer spoke with Greg Steffey, whose wife, Hope Steffey called 911 after she was assaulted by her cousin. Things took a turn for the worst when the police arrived and treated Hope as the perpetrator. She was arrested, taken to jail, and subjected to a humiliating full-body strip search by both male and female officers, violating the sheriff department's own policy that a strip search be conducted by an officer of the same sex. Hope was then left naked in a cell for six hours. Included in the news segment was video footage of the strip search....

I can’t believe you’re actually defending these sick f__ks.
I guess you guys really stick together, eh. No matter what the circumstances. NO matter how f__ked up that overfed sheriff and his herd of cattle are.
Amazing.
Gee, I wish people would read my entire post. I’m not defending the cops, I’m condemning the TV station and reporter for reporting a biased story. And it sounds like a few Freepers still believe in the Tooth Fairy. The station reports “as fact”, the second hand story of someone who wasn’t even there. According to the station, the “victim” was assaulted by a cousin. She had someone call the cops to report it. A “confused” deputy shows up and arrests the “victim” for no other reason than, apparently, because he was confused. If you believe that story, then Obama can end this recession tomorrow- he can have the banks sell you some of that foreclosed swamp land in Florida!
>> With the criminals its always alleged. Why isnt the same being used here?
Uh, maybe because they’re caught on TAPE doing the dirty deed?
Frankly, this is just what I want my supposedly adversarial journalists to do. Soon, we citizens are going to be needing MUCH more protection from our police. They’re simply no longer on the side of the average citizen. Their union, their government, and their power-lusts are their gods now.
This kind of stuff happens EVERY DAY in this country because we have institutions empowered by the voters that inflict bad behavior on fellow citizens. The only reason this stands is because enough people are willing to give the Police the benefit of the doubt. Now this stuff just used to happen to blacks, and whites from the Ozarks. Now because nobody stood up for the blacks and poor whites it is happening to everybody.
I for one would be right at your side. They work for US!
If that was my daughter there would be two dead cops.
And they wonder why people call them “pigs”. Is this standard procedure in Stark county or have the JBT’s become braver since Obambi was elected?
Sad but true, the Police have gone from a reasuring, involved presense to a detached overseers.
The para-military costumes, high tight haircuts and mirrored sunglasses have made them look silly and forboding at the same time. The local police forces in Morris County New Jersey are over the top, the delight in traffic stops and the ensuing harassment.
I was stopped in Boonton Township 4 months ago, doing the 30 mph speed limit, not another car on the road.
When I stopped, his first question was “What are you doing here and where are you going”, this struck me as odd and I told him so, his responce was get out of your car (actually pick-up truck), I did so, and said “OK now what”, he called for assistance and we now had two of the townships finest standing there, in their swat team costumes. We the proceded to the license, registration and insurance card routine...that checked out OK, the last name on the door or the truck was the same as mine, the officer who stopped me wanted to know if Hugh (the first name in the company name) gave me authorization to use the truck, I told him no, Hugh was my grandfather and he died in 1970. This stumped the band.
Still no expanation for the stop.
After a few more silly questions I told them this had been fun but I had to go, so I got back in the truck and said, “one more thing boys, Halloween is in October”
” I wish people would read my entire post”
I did. DID YOU READ MINE??
There is absolutely NOTHING that a woman could be arrested for that would excuse this behavior!
Or do you disagree? Do you think it would be acceptable for YOUR wife (drunk or not) to be treated in like manner?
The payout for locking up a crazy drunk naked is a hell of a lot less than the payout for someone who actually kills themself while in custody.
I can guarantee that if you get batshit crazy drunk, get violent and make threats of self harm you will end up naked in a cell till you sober up.
People blame the cops but the real blame lies with the Trial Lawyers Association and the belief that nobody is responsible for their behavior because it’s the government’s job to protect everyone, which means Ta Dah! they have to control everyone. TAANSTAAFL
Men were undressing a Female detainee. Enough said. Guilty.
When a MAN forcefully pulls the panties from a woman that is Rape. Whether anything further from that happened is completely beside the point. She was raped, and mentally will be dealing with this for a very long time. Penetration is not a necessary aspect to rape, or the mental anguish.
From Video footage alone those male “Cops” in that room should be in prison, and the inmates made full aware of who they are.
When the people in public office, or public work do this there is really nothing worse.
If you can actually define a reason in your mind as to why they are not immediately guilty from that footage there is something really wrong. Unless that tape is fake, they deserve some very nasty punishment.
EVERY DAy in our country because we want to have “safe” roads.

That whole department is nothing but a group of low life thugs themselves.
The police department is going to have a hell of a time winning this case. From what I saw on the report, they were merely reporting the story from the viewpoint of the husband and the video itself. Even if the husband was lying (my opinion is he’s not) they are reporting what he said. They did not make any judgments or convictions toward the officers, other than to comment that the video was disturbing - which it is. In fact, they called the police department for their side of the story and the department turned them down. When that happens, you get a “one-sided” story by default. That doesn’t mean the news station shouldn’t run with it. If the cops want balance, they should come forward and talk. I’m sure there’s plenty they could say (maybe with a lawyer present) that wouldn’t jeopardize their position in the lawsuit.
It looks more to me like an attempt by the police department to shut down any criticism of their “work.”
