Check out the video below, where WKYC investigative reporter Tom Meyer spoke with Greg Steffey, whose wife, Hope Steffey called 911 after she was assaulted by her cousin. Things took a turn for the worst when the police arrived and treated Hope as the perpetrator. She was arrested, taken to jail, and subjected to a humiliating full-body strip search by both male and female officers, violating the sheriff department's own policy that a strip search be conducted by an officer of the same sex. Hope was then left naked in a cell for six hours. Included in the news segment was video footage of the strip search....

I like this quote from your homepage:
“Oppressors can tyrannize only when they achieve a standing army, an enslaved press, and a disarmed populace.” - James Madison”
They are close to achieving the first goal, a “standing army”, with our unionized “police” beholden to their political overlords.
They have already achieved the second goal, an enslaved press.
They are attacking the third goal, a disarmed populace, as quickly and as forcefully as they dare.
It’s food for thought.
The only person I know for sure is a “scumbag” is you. That is because you assume the victim is a scumbag without any evidence. Hence, you are scumbag.
The most disturbing aspect of this case is the willing acceptance and participation of the department. Rather than being an example of a single rogue cop acting and then being restrained and disciplined by his peers or management this appears to be an accepted and encouraged behavior. There needs to be a purge of this department from top to bottom beginning with the election of a new and honest sheriff committed to breaking the union.
That’s the blue wall that you hear about.
No “decent” cop wants to be seen as being outside of the pack because he’ll end up without backup or taking a bullet from one of the scumbags supposed to be covering him.
In other words, he accepts the bad behavior because it’s safer than doing what’s right and by keeping his mouth shut encourages these outrages.
There are no “good” cops in a dirty department. Broom the whole place and start from scratch, it’s the only way to eliminate the corrupt and power crazed.
The solution is easy to conceptualize; higher eligibility standards (fewer dumbass, psychologically flawed cops), better training, and a higher level of personal accountability at every level of the police departments.
I remember this very, very well and was outraged.
>> The solution is easy to conceptualize
I think part of the solution is: NO POLICE LABOR UNIONS. Period. No reason whatsoever that police need to be unionized.
They are a disgrace. We’ve got some losers where I live as well.
So your contention is that police can't do their job without causing the arrested to commit suicide or stripping them naked? You do realize how absurd you are don't you?
You sound like me ozark. I always have respected our men in blue and I know they risk their lives but there are many (too many) bad eggs out there and I’ve experienced it first-hand; and it is, in a word, scary.
You have gotten some bad information sir. Besides, even if the lady IS white trash, had someone else call 911, or did all of the things YOU are alleging, she DID not, absolutely, DID not deserve the treatment she received. I don’t care if that lady said “FU” or what. Once handcuffed, she should have been properly searched or whatever these oversized egos call it. Plain and simple. Wrong is wrong.
There are plenty of scumbags on police forces - plenty.
They had a case here locally not too long ago where the cop raped some drunken lady in the back of the cruiser.
Policemen are supposed to abide by the laws too but, sadly, many use the badge as a weapon of abuse and control in ways it should not be used.
Fine - but are you going to try and say that all “peace officers” are good guys? Yeah, right.
I was quoting Krankor. Read my post again. You shouldn't be asking me this question. Ask kronkor instead.
That is very disturbing!
And the fact that five other women have come forward to make the same charges of abuse and forced strip searches by men make it all the more outrageous.
Bad, bad, bad.
You could not possibly infer that from my post.
