What a blatant exercise of censorship. Anyone know anymore about this story? Was it covered in October of 2008?

A GOOD REASON not to “register” your guns! What state did this happen in? HOW would the campus Barney Fife’s access that info?

They told Wahlberg that they had received a complaint from his professor that his presentation was making students feel scared and uncomfortable. Hey, talking about gay rights makes me "scared and uncomfortable." So we should arrest all the gay rights supporters, I suppose.

After all, a university campus is a place for the free and open exchange of ideas.

He also touched on the controversial idea of free gun zones on college campuses. Cool! Are these zones where you can get free guns? Sweet!

Yikes. Good thing she didn't have a gun. She would have "eliminated the threat" on the spot, gotten the backing of the school, and taught a valuable lesson about what was acceptable speech in her class.

It is also my responsibility as a teacher to protect the well being of our students, and the campus community at all times, she wrote in a statement submitted to The Recorder. As such, when deemed necessary because of any perceived risks, I seek guidance and consultation from the Chair of my Department, the Dean and any relevant University officials. What a load of BS! If this spineless moron can't discern and comprehend a speech about self-defense, she has no place being a communications insructor. Thank God, I didn't have a wimp for an instructor when I gave a speech about women and self-defense a few years back.

The action by the state is good reason to leave. They don’t want good people. They only want sheep that will submit to the state.

We are living in an age of extreme paranoia. Show any passion or emotion with a rightward twist and you are classified as a person about to go postal.
I am sick to my soul of persons on the left playing pyschologist and social worker.

I say he screwed up by going to the “campus PD”.If they wanted to talk to him they should have issued an arrest warrant after which time he could have sued for false arrest.

An inexcusable overreaction by the prof, IMO. Ought to be fired.

Intimidation. Professor needs to taste some.

This is quite typical of what is happening at most of our colleges and universities these days. They’ve been taken over by the communists - all those draft dodgers that got college deferments back in the Vietnam War days are now running our schools.
