YESTERDAY, President Obama went to Camp Lejeune. He spoke in front of US Marines, but his real audience was his left-wing campaign supporters.
And his carefully worded speech - its parsing of language worthy of Bill Clinton - may go down in history as his "Mission Accomplished" moment. We'll see who leaves Iraq when.
During last year's presidential campaign, it was evident that Obama wouldn't keep his promises to his leftist base to pull our troops out rapidly.
While he benefited greatly from the troop surge he opposed - which handed him a convalescent Iraq - he's learning that reality trumps rhetoric.
Forcefully delivered, his speech to the Marines served up more waffles than the International House of Pancakes.

What I’m concerned about is that he will leave enough troops to incur casualties but not enough to be safe.
“Loot or be looted” is our national motto now.
Unless you have the cojones and/or resources to John Galt.
The magic negro got quite a cold reception from the US Marines
at Camp Lejeune.
Lots of young Marine heros standing like statues most with contempt on their faces.
I noticed. He had to buy some applause by promising a pay raise, which is well-deserved, IMO.
Hopefully, President Obama will delegate responsibility in Iraq to somebody who is competent and supports the mission. I have no illusion that he meets either criterion himself.
That’s my concern, too. Somewhere it was mentioned that these would be “non-combat” troops. Does that mean they simply get to sit there and endure attacks?
The Corps is in trouble.
Both sworn to defend the constitution and drilled to obey the orders of their commanders, meaning as well their commander in chief, will they fire upon those who protest Obama’s shredding of the sacred document if so ordered?
In such a scenario, the rest of America’s armed services would turn on Obama (many Nazis were hanged for just “following orders”) but would the Marines?
The SS,like the Marines, were the disciplined elite.Would the Marines, like the SS,be efficient butchers for evil tyrants as well?
And is this a rhetorical question?
God,I hope so.
(I am NOT,in any way, comparing the Corps to the SS in any moral way—I’m fully aware of the evil of one and the honor of the other)
WHY can someone tell me is every photo of Obama basically of the same pose with the camera angled looking UP to him. I mean every photo online that I’ve seen is like that. Do they now control what photos will and will not be shown to the public?
Have you ever known a Marine ?
Based on your posted comment, I would say no.
Personally,I don’t believe in pull out of our troops
imho we need troops over there to secure Iraq’s future as however THEY deem it and our troops there secure Israel’s future also as a protection.Phony pullout? i guess that would be a good phrase for the libtards and red-doper diaper babies who are dissatisfied with how fast & furious their Obummer makes promises.
What I’m really waiting for is the OBUMMER VIRUS
The OBUMMER VIRUS is the one that catches up real quick with the armed services when they decide they ain’t gonna’ dew-’cause they found out OBUMMER isn’t eligible to be POTUS.
I know what you mean. Photographers get down on their knees around him...
I read your background, which mentions your Vietnam-era service in the Navy, so I salute you...
But you really do disservice to your brothers and sisters in the Marine Corps when you even vaguely compare them to something as disgusting as Germany's SS.
If you knew Marines and the Marine Corps, you would wonder how such a great group of Americans could be assembled in one team.
Do yourself a favor - visit Camp Lejeune or Camp Pendleton, wander around and talk to some Marines at random. You'll never meet finer or more patriotic Americans anywhere.
The ObamaRats’ aim is to hand Iraq over to Russia-China-Venezuela-allied Iran as soon as possible.
I think hes comparing these times we’re in to the circumstances our marine may soon face, and that they are similar to the ones faced by the SS.
Glad you see my question as rhetorical.
Yes,I knew many marines, but that was over 30 years ago.
Guess I was worried political correctness had softened the breed OUTSIDE the battlefield.
As I told another responder,I knew the corps back in the 70s,I’m just curious as to where they stand now.
The answer may become very important in the future.
Yea - ain’t no such thing as “non-combat” troops in the US Army or Marines.
Give zerO credit: he had several applause lines, or what he had planned as applause lines, that received total silence and he barely hesitated when he didn’t receive it. That hesitant speech style has some benefits, it seems.
True but well-informed listeners could tell what was happening. In fact, it was predictable. If Zero has the support of 20% of the military, I’d be surprised.
