In a protest straight from American history, people at the Jacksonville Landing and in cities large and small across the nation are being asked to reenact the Boston tea party in protest to the latest stimulus package and the foreclosure assistance bill.
The tax revolt, inspired by CNBC reporter Rick Santelli's rant earlier this week about President Barack Obama's housing rescue plan, resulted in a grassroots effort pushing "tea party" protests Friday in large cities like Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta and Houston, and small towns like Tulsa, Iowa, and Calera, Ala.
At noon at the Jacksonville Landing, Jim Fallon was among the first to show up for the protest.
"We feel we shouldn't be spending money, and chasing good money after bad buying mortgages, buy out banks, buying automobile companies," Fallon said. "It's just tax money that's being thrown away in a very bad manner."
The event was expected to continue until 1:30 p.m.

I shall be at the Cleveland Tea Party. Wish me luck. In the pictures, I will NOT be wearing sunglasses and hat. H*ll, I’ve been posting here for 10 years so the Feds already know who I am.
By the way, any of you 0bama-bots in the White House basement: are you golf fans? Because as you know I have the FR Golf PING list. Today is round three of the Accenture Match Play. You want updates or do you have a tv to keep current?
“0” local news on the Chicago Tea Party.
Not unexpected.
Just back from the Denver Tea Party. Approx 150 people. Cold and windy.
Media mostly busy with the Rocky Mountain News shutdown and swearing in of new Sate Patrol chief at opposite side of the state capitol.
Still worth taking off work.
My sign: NO TO SOCIALISM with www.freerepublic.com on the other side.
WOO-HOO - this all gives me hope!
this just in.

Very nice folks.
Thanks for being there.
Looks like they could have all fit in a small coffee shop.
