President Barack Obama's budget includes hundreds of billions of dollars in revenues from a greenhouse gas emissions trading system, an administration official said on Wednesday.

The revenues from the system would be spread out over many years starting in 2012, the official said.

Obama wants to help fight climate change by capping emissions of greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide, or CO2, from big industries and allowing them to trade rights to pollute. Such systems are commonly called "cap and trade."

So not only will it save the environment, cap and trade will help reduce the budget deficit! When people ask me about Global Warming, before I dissect any details, I always say: "The problem with Global Warming solutions if that you are talking about spending trillions of dollars with no guarantee that it will make and difference"

I guess in that respect, it's kind of like AIDS research.

Just another tax.

At least this one is not unfairly targeted on the productive.

Wow! By raising hundreds of billions of dollars in revenue from Big Industries, it’s almost like finding free money! [/s]

The CO2 BS exchange or market is in...Chicago!

Just like the CBOE (options) and CME (mercantile) both used to wreck the stock market in October to elect Obama.

The Fox Business Channel anchor said this morning he was “re-reading Atlas Shrugged”. How appropriate.

“Democratic congressional leaders should abandon their plans to rush another giant spending increase through Congress without public scrutiny, and instead pass a clean bill that freezes spending at current levels. Republicans stand ready to work with our Democratic colleagues and the President to take this first step toward a new standard of fiscal discipline in Washington..” –House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-OH)

“We have been on an incredible spending spree, though. We’ve spent, in this new administration, 32 days, $36 billion a day. If you add all that up, that’s as much as the previous administration spent over seven years on both the war on terror and the recovery from Katrina.” Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY)

Senate Republicans also held a press conference to demand an end to the Democrat spending spree (video).

So, it's okay to pollute but it will cost you?! How nice! In other words, as long as the government is making money screw the environment. What a bunch of hypocrites!

Aside from the fact the man-made global warming is a hoax, Obama’s tax will result in businesses cutting back or closing, higher unemployment and less tax revenue.

Sure.....

Severely limit and destroy heavy industry in this country, that will surely grow the revenues coming into Washington. As well as put countless Amerikuns back to werk, fer sher!

And let me guess, ALGORE just so happens to have a firm of “consultants” immediately available to handle these transactions. (For additional 25% of the gross.)

I can just smell the PROSPERITY already!

If this actually passes, I think I’ll start up a new consulting business, helping people start up Cap & Trade Facilitation companies.

How hard could it be?
