Jindal:
As I grew up, my mom and dad taught me the values that attracted them to this country -- and they instilled in me an immigrant's wonder at the greatness of America. As a child, I remember going to the grocery store with my dad. Growing up in India, he had seen extreme poverty. And as we walked through the aisles, looking at the endless variety on the shelves, he would tell me: 'Bobby, Americans can do anything.'
Obama:
...Dillon, South Carolina - a place where the ceilings leak, the paint peels off the walls, and they have to stop teaching six times a day because the train barrels by their classroom. She has been told that her school is hopeless, but the other day after class she went to the public library and typed up a letter to the people sitting in this room. She even asked her principal for the money to buy a stamp. The letter asks us for help...

He was born on American soil, thus a natural born citizen. His parents were immigrating here to live and weren’t to my knowledge government officials from abroad who just happened to be here, so no exception in that regard.
We might not like it that any baby born on US soil(except for exceptions) is an American citizen by birth, but that is and has been immigration law.
Have you ever heard of anchor babies? He was born on us soil he’s a citizen
I agree with you completely. However, this should have been part of the normal budget, not a rider to the stimulus package.
Jindal was not an anchor baby. His parents were legally in this country. He is a full citizen, even under the proper reading of the 14th Amendment.
“the dow is back up today”
2. Your point?
Let’s remember that B.O. is one month into his term in office. He is still by and large idolized by the leftists. I don’t think a full frontal assault would be the best ploy here.
All that would accomplish is to firmly ensconce people in their present position. By opening up with the recitation of what good immigrants do, then going subtle, I think Jindal struck just the right tone. His goal was to crack the die hard liberal shell on Obama. Advance the perception that Obama’s overall game plan is destructive, long term.
Some leftists still won’t buy it, but the one’s who have have a clue will begin to get the message. And after all, that’s about all we can hope for right now.
Obama got an hour and we got ten minutes. I think that was a very effective use of ten minutes. But hey, I do appreciate your take on it.
Take care.
I agree.
I agree 100%. Any of Romney, Palin or Jindhal would be a far better President than Obama, and would be better candidate than McCain was. So why the shallow criticisms???? Trolls or the ever-present circular-firing squad type conservatives, who would rather destroy conservative unity than let someone who they have a nitpick disagreement on succeed.
Either way, the result is liberal Democrat triumph.
Sure are a lot of trolls on these Jindal threads, with some "very ready" hit pieces. Looks like Soros is spreading a lot of pocket change for favors today.
Yeah I think it was but not in a derisive way I think he was pointing out how somebody of half and half is “historic” to make people think.
Jindal clearly forgot all his sarcasm tags and disappointed a lot of Freepers with his subtle non-barracuda attack.
Some history that may be pertinent to this discussion.

great lyrics
It wouldn’t hurt to see them commit to some joint appearances hitting home some core principles while they have visibility. That would make for some great fund raising late this year an on into the next.
There’s going to be a need for campaign funds as we replace RINOs and other leftists.
Jindal sounded like algore. Not in what he said but in the way he said it.
Sure we do. Look, we can go out and hurl accurate insults at Obama all we like, what will it gain us? You and I will be delighted to see it, but who will we win over doing it?
The die hard Obama loyalist isn’t going to buy into it. They’ll just entrench. Even some moderates will be turned off, if it looks like a knee jerk attack.
So yes, Obama one month in, is still quite popular with the left. And we aren’t going to make ground by going for the jugular.
We can possibly crack open some perceptions, and instill some doubt. That’s about it.
So yes, he still is a tough guy to criticize, effectively. We’re not trying to win over folks like you and I. We’re trying to crack open those who don’t. It’s not that easy.
I agree. I also admit that like some others, I sometimes come off half-cocked here, and don’t always get it right on first blush. Here I think cooler heads will prevail in the long run. I appreciate your comments.
BTW...you can't spell.
P.S. I think you are right about Jindal.....but don't give Palin enough credit.
fwiw....
He is extremely easy to criticize, and even more easy to do it in an un-partisan manner, because he has been such a train wreck. Any one who hasn’t had a moment of doubt over him at this point, never will. You will never, NEVER, reach that 30% of obama supporters that are die hard libs.
SO criticize away.
Citizen but not a ‘natural born citizen since both/neither parent was an American citizen at his birth. Just being a citizen isn’t sufficient, yet. The illegal invaders from South of Tx, AZ, NM, etc. have not yet been granted that status officially, though the subpreme court has offered tacit approval of the usurpation by ignoring the ineligibility of the almost blackman affirmative action poseur-in-chief.
