Live thread.
“Terrible speech, horrible delivery, crappy audio”
His delivery needs work and the audio isn’t his fault but I would hardly call it a terrible speech.
My position is this, I support a person man or woman regardless of their race or religious beliefs (except for Devil worshipers) just as long they support my core values..
Stiff and nervous can be easily fixed by practice. I really like Jindal's fiscal policies, and the fact that he is well-educated and an obvious policy wonk.
My big concern is that many in the media seem to like Jindal, too, and the John McCain/media love affair turned absolute disaster is very fresh in my mind. It makes me suspicious; don't know if that suspicion is warranted or not yet.
See: The Jindal Phenomenon by Michael Gerson(^), The Washington Post, Wednesday, February 25, 2009 for an example of what I'm talking about.
You are going to find that folks who are supporters of Obama are not very successful here.
Good taste....RED I assume?
Hunter’s plan is brilliant for how to “protect” not just jobs, but entire industries. It’s called mirror trade. Very conservative to boot. You might want to investigate how our exports are taxed when shipped overseas. Then think how much sense it makes to zero out all taxes on our own exporting manufacturers. Of course, it would entail shitcanning the anti-american bureaucrats at the WTO. But that in itself would be a blessing.
Exactly.
“Obama is a stunning speciman at 62”
Stunning specimen? Is he still on the slave block?
Who is talking about the marxist Hussein?
When Fox hated it, it spoke that the substance that Jindal presented was not what they wanted to hear. Fox should be ashamed for the audio that came out of them on Jindal’s speech.
I was driving through Louisiana during the election and hear Jindal on the radio. I was impressed with the man and his no nonsense approach with earmarks and bureaucrats. He sold me on that drive through LA.
Hell, he makes me remember Jimmy Carter with fondness.
Kinda what I was thinking. Wish it weren't true, but alas it is. I realize the "Jindal fever" round these here parts, but I am afraid we need to reconsider. Maybe get a group of strong potential candidates together. As much as I like the guy and appreciate what he has done, I wouldn't pin my entire future on him.
Just my two cents.
We’re almost 80% urban in this country. Square miles and prairie dogs don’t vote. People do.
Knowing as I do that you won’t believe it without seeing it for yourself: http://factfinder.census.gov/servlet/GCTTable?_bm=y&-geo_id=01000US&-_box_head_nbr=GCT-P1&-ds_name=DEC_2000_SF1_U&-format=US-1
Your post (386) was in response to my post (276), which itself was a reply to a post by Miss Didi (265), which I quote as follows: "McCain will also be on Fox & Friends tomorrow morning to gush over Barrys speech."
So, logically, when I used the masculine subjective pronoun "he" at post 276, one would assume that I'm replying to post 265, and thus, a reply to a remark about John McCain.
Unless, of course, Jindal was talking about working with Obama on health care, admitting a rush into TARP, and talking about Palin, as you implicitly claim.
So, which is it?
Its a great strategy, two oil producing states with fiscally conservative Govs. Likely two states that will come out of this crisis in the best shape. Not to mention being able to bring the truth out about Katrina rather than the Establishment media attack machine’s version. Bobby Rox!

So you’re saying that Jindal isn’t a genuine conservative, and that those of us who’d like to see him at the top of the ticket aren’t conservatives? Let me guess....only those who support Sarah are conservatives, right? Yeah...uh-huh.
Obozo’s machine would be stupid if they weren’t on this thread.
Pray for America
DUmmie?
His first rebuttal against the prosecutor is all we really needed tonight and somehow I can picture Giuliani doing it.
