While Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (R-Calif.) has always been something of a loner within the GOP, never has it been as obvious as in the last few days.
Indeed, at the National Governors Association meeting, its been hard to tell hes a Republican at all.
He spent Saturday on a University of Virginia panel with Gov. Ed Rendell (D-Pa.), and in private meetings with Energy Secretary Steven Chu, Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lisa Jackson, Interior Secretary Ken Salazar and energy czar Carol Browner. He skipped the Republican Governors Association dinner that evening, an event most GOP governors attended.
On Sunday evening, Schwarzenegger was seated next to First Lady Michelle Obama at the White House black tie event for the nations governors.
Gov. Schwarzenegger is going to do what is in the best interest for California, not Republican governors, Democratic governors or any political strategy, said Matt David, Schwarzeneggers communications director. He believes the federal stimulus will create jobs for California and fully stands behind Barack Obama.

It’s too late.
maybe he could call aRlen if he gets too lonely
Maybe the Governator is contemplating changing sides and becoming a Democrat. Would be the biggest shock in Hollywood since Clay Aiken came out of the closet.
Why can’t we deport this cretin. Oh, btw, every movie he’s done since the original “Terminator” has s-cked.
He supposedly considered doing just that some months back, ala Bloomberg style, go Independent.
With Republicans like this, who needs Democrats?

How bad did things get between Der Governator and his fellow Republicans? Schwarzeneggers biographer, Joe Mathews, reports that he recently considered dropping out of the party altogether. Its the latest blast in a long-running war. A few months ago, Arnold Schwarzenegger and a few close associates discussed whether he should leave the Republican Party, according to two people familiar with the conversation. His friend Mike Bloomberg, the New York mayor, had become an independent. Maybe Schwarzenegger should, too. But the governor and his people quickly concluded that Californians already saw him as independent of the Republican Party. So what would...
No....you don't say!
Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!
He supposedly considered doing just that some months back, ala Bloomberg style, go Independent.
But let me guess, the Independents wouldn’t take him.
Loner, loser; what’s the difference? Ahnold Scharzenegger-Kennedy lost his only major difference with the ‘Rats in 1991.
I heard he was going to march on Nevada to take people’s mind off his economic problems.
Maybe burn down the statehouse. That kind of thing.
Nupe.
We are better off without it.
"Stimulus" money just encourages irresponsible behavior by Democrat (with a few RINO) legislators.
We need a governor to say...
The bailout and the begging stops.
THAT is the ONLY way out of this.
.
Here's a photo of it from 2003, for old times sake. Susan Kennedy sure appreciated the vote of confidence from California Republicans:
Whadya espect, he’s a Kennedy!
Not really, he’s got Specter, Snowe and Collins to chum around with on the federal level.
/boggle
Why would Arnold hang out with republicans? I mean beyond the bare minimum that his job requires; no one questions it when any other liberal democrat shuns republicans.
ARE YOU SERIOUS, I NEVER KNEW!
