In the Declaration of Independence the founders were referring to a foreign government. Unfortunately now we face these same obstacles but with our own government.
Here’s hoping their brilliant system of checks and balances will help minimize the damage. But no guarantee and we are now a secular nation...the founders warned about government where God and religion were suppressed like the French Revolution in their day.

Thanks for the post Jim. I recently renewed my Notary Public commission here in CA. Part of the procedure is to swear an oath to..."solenmly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of California against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the Constitution of the United States...." I take this oath very seriously. I am liking the idea of a TEA PARTY.

Sadly Jim, Americans don't care about freedom and liberty any longer. America has turned a dark page in its history. America has passed it time. Americans have evolved into a nanny nation that wants it for free. True, liberty seeking, Americans are fewer and fewer. We are out numbered by those from the dumbed down school systems, the never gave a rats ass, the lazies, the I don't cares, and now the millions of illegals. Good, hard working Americans are getting out numbered daily. Socialism, Marxism, Communism, whatever you want to call it, is a cancer that destroyed the Soviet Union, Cuba and North Korea. It will now destroy us, sad to say. Communist China has survived because it went to a capitalistic money making system instead of the commie socialism. What we have are the 1960s radicals now in charge and determined to destroy America now. Plus, I believe Obama is using all this as a back door Slave Reparations gadget. Give it too them this way since nobody would stand for a free giveaway in the name of Slave Reparations.
Obama is seeking to cut the national debt by culling out the costly baby boomers. By denying us medical care for serious illnesses, we will die off at a faster pace, and they will not have to pay out socialized security and medicare for us. This disguise of health care is nothing more than culling the herd.
