I heard Sarah address a rally at Beaver PA High School Stadium (same rally that Sean Hannity walked into and near caused a mini-riot at the gate). The packed stadium was with her 100 percent as she called out, "Drill Baby Drill, Mine Baby Mine". This side of Sarah was never reported by the media. Instead, even in the conversations on this thread, people want to make her bend to fighting the other side on their own turf, with questions of "She should have been able to take it."

No, she should only be allowed to be herself and show what she has to offer America. Nuff said.

This woman is your winner...Take good care of her.

Notably put, Peter. One day she'll speak at Westminster, her words resounding thru the rafters!

Works for me. I like seeing a conservative calling a spade a spade, and not adapting the heartly well met doughy loser role.

Looking back on her interview with ABC News’ Charles Gibson, in which Palin seemed unsure of how to define the Bush doctrine,

They can't even report it without bias. She wasn't "unsure" about how to define the Bush doctrine. There were several things called "the Bush doctrine". She didn't try to read Gibsons mind and divine what he was thinking. She made him define what he meant before answering his question about the "Bush doctrine"

I just posted this thought on the Jindal thread.

So how do you expect the MSM to "Palin" Bobby Jindal? You know they're going to try...

"But here's a little news flash for all those reporters and commentators: I'm not going to Washington to seek their good opinion. I'm going to Washington to serve the people of this country. Americans expect us to go to Washington for the right reasons, and not just to mingle with the right people." - Sarah Palin, Acceptance Speech at RNC

As much as I love Sarah and think she was the most qualified candidate on either ticket, I cringed when I heard her make that statement in a taunting tone of voice in her acceptance speech. She literally threw down the gauntlet to the media, and they picked it up and ran with it. (Not that she wouldn't have been attacked anyway, but it might not have been as vicious and personal as it got.)

I'm sincerely hoping that she'll use the next few years to hone her knowledge base of international issues, and gain some "gravitas". I would love to see her as our first woman president. She has the common sense, intelligence, and intuition needed to lead our nation, along with a genuine rapport with the real people who make this country work.

I want to second THAT! I was at the Shippensburg Rally, and the scene was EXACTLY the same, with the crod completely electrified. She was on fire at the time, but the media did everything it could to hose her down and put her out.

Palin seemed unsure of how to define the Bush doctrine

Easy answer. Just take the Obama doctrine and turn it 180 degrees.

So you no longer support Conservatives when they fight back against the smears of the left?

Reagan left the petty "interview stuff" to others. But thats not her modus operandi, apparently.

“She ought to STFU”

Just what the Obamabots would like her to do... STFU and just crawl into a corner and never show her face nationally again.

Bulls**t! The press attacked her family and she called them on it. It’s about damn time someone did.

“Not that she wouldn’t have been attacked anyway, but it might not have been as vicious and personal as it got.”

Of course the MSM would’ve attacked her regardless. She was responding to the attacks that had already occurred. Could anyone imagine 0bama taking that kind of barrage?

I never said the latter.

The reason Reagan could withstand the intense media hatred is that he never turned the pettiness back on them. He just ignored them and did what he wanted.

I'd like her to outline her philosophy more explicitly , and then show that she will stick by it no matter what. Just like Reagan.

The media sure showed their hand, and they were plain and simple vicious. They had a mission and that was to seek and destroy while letting “citizenship and background of another” just slip on by.....

I am going out of my way to avoid mainstream (propaganda machine) media.

Palin is principled and lives her faith.

Bullshit! She does not sound like a Sore loser. Anyway on our side should be able to see the liberal bias of the media. Taking your advice, she should take abuse laying down.

The attacks against Palin were despicable, yes, but unprecedented? Weren’t they little more than a continuation of the increasingly-admittedly-liberal media’s bias, as directed so vehemently, for so long, against President Bush? I wasn’t surprised by the attacks, when they came. I was surprised by Sarah’s lack of foresight and readiness.

He just ignored them and did what he wanted.

You just can't do that now and expect to survive politically. Reagan did not have the internet to contend with, nor did he have the legions of Soros-backed front groups out with their knives drawn, seeking to destroy every Conservative candidate and idea that emerged during his era.

You have to fight back now, or else you get trampled into the mud.

Reagan did not have the internet to contend with

Neither did the print media, and they are losing that battle.

When he started running for national office in' 74 or so, all he had behind him was the base; the establishment RINO's had no use for him. He succeeded because he put out and espoused position policy, and he left the nasty stuff to Viguerie and the other mass marketers, etc

Palin is populist in her own way, but I would prefer to get a sense of what she would do, rather than watch her get sidetracked with all this petty People magazine stuff.
