It's Not Time Yet, But . . .
self | February 23, 2009 | LS

Posted on 02/23/2009 8:33:42 AM PST by LS

In the last few weeks, there have been a number of suggestions as to how to regain control of the government and our nation's direction. Some, such as Ron Paul's minions, are planning an April run on banks to try to "bring the system down." (Abbie Hoffman, is that you?) Others have suggsted various other plans, some good, some long-term, some organizational in nature.

I think I have the plan. It's not time yet. We'll know when. But I take my lead from our fellow Tennessee patriots who stopped that state's income tax from passing by basically tying up the capitol with a traffic jam and "human jam" of enormous proportions. (The French truckers did this a few years ago, too, to protest something).

Here's my suggestion: WHEN IT'S TIME, millions need to descend peacefully on D.C. in cars (the more the better), but planes, trains, and surreys will work too. Bring your sleeping bags. Stage the largest sit-down strike in American history, a strike that will make the inaguration crowd look like a bar mitzvah. Once again, PEACEFUL is the word.

The idea would be to so completely tie up D.C. that absolutely nothing could move. No staffers could get in, no media could get in or out except by helo. Some people might have to sacrifice cars---so some people might want to bring "beaters," and just walk away. What would happen if suddenly D.C. looked like one of those scenes from a horror movie, with hundreds of abandoned cars? It could take weeks to move anything. People would not be "PROTESTING" per se, but just "visiting" to express their concern, milling about, blocking up the nation's sick heart like a giant blood clot.

Imagine if no one can get in or out of airports? What would "they" do? Call the army? To do what? Herd people out? (How would THEY get in?)

I haven't fully fleshed this out, but it strikes me that it would be absolutely unbeatable. Read Jean Rapail's "The Camp of the Saints" and see how effective non-violent "showing up" can be!

Quite the contrary, you show you are CLUELESS in how to actually organize stuff. I suggest you read Alinksy and Hoffman. The goal is to appear to be doing nothing while accomplishing a lot. Armies and police can chase out protestors or demand permits. But who can require a permit of 3 million visitors.

You need to get out of the way. You clearly aren't leading, and sure aren't following. The adults will handle it from here.

The time for doing something meaningful was a long time ago.

You would give up?

Interesting idea, but do remember the Army dispersed the Bonus Army.

Some of my youthful memories are of the WWI veterans plugging for the Bonus. We lived in a town next to an army post, and there were a lot of the "Great War" veterans living there.

I was under the impression that McArthur's troops machinegunned some of the Bonus Army participants, but haven't found anything to prove that.

It may have been simply a rumor circulating amongst the WWI vets I knew.

Yeah, the sounds of cascading strings is beautiful!

I'm with you in heart and spirit, LS.

Amazing << Hear this. Feel this, and tell me that this isn't music.

Hey Barack HUSSEIN Obama, I went to Harvard too! That was the worst fieldtrip of my life, but I went there...

We need to do something to get attention. There are people ready. I see people wanting to start up separate revolts. NOT GOING TO WORK. It needs to be WELL PLANNED and a very future time so people can make plans well ahead of time. This will be what a working person would need to be off for either 1 or more days. NUMBERS are important! LET FIGHT!!

As I said, I think the time will become evident. People didn't "plan" the Boston Tea Party until there was a specific event that triggered the discontent to a boil. But the key is that when it occurs, it will affect not only the Wall Streeters and the main streeters, but virtually everyone in between.

No "revolution" encompasses everyone, but every good political upheaval encompasses SOME of everyone---the very rich, the middle class, and the poor.

One thing that tells me it isn't time is that somehow people are still living somewhat high on the hog. I just spoke to my travel agent, who tells me cruises are full and they are doing a booming business; I drive by the ritzy restaurant row outside our big mall and it's packed. When I go in any of the stores, they are busy. So it's not here yet, but we need to be thinking about things.

Numbers are critical so that no one in the drivebys can ignore what happens; but you don't want it too "planned," because it CANNOT BE A "PROTEST." A "PROTEST" needs permits, blah, blah, and gives the "man" time to block it, segregate it, or whatever. This must be relatively spontaneous and appear 100% spontaneous.

You are assuming that anyone will have a job in a few months—or that going to a “job” will net you anything but a few worthless $10-billion-dollar bills.

Misspelled your name.

The beauty part is: How can they prove you were in on it, and weren’t just an innocent Obamatron caught in the traffic jam?

We can start with SLOWDOWNS. Start by commuting at the SPEED LIMIT. That alone will start jams.

Every day, reduce your speed a little from the previous day.

BTW: I think the right time for this to begin is 7:30 TOMORROW MORNING.

Here’s another idea:

Two patriots stop their cars, crooked, blocking more than two lanes if possible. Make it look like a fender bender. Get out of your cars, examine them all around. Before the cops can get there, get back and drive off as if nothing happened. The resulting traffice jam will last a long time. Do this just downstream from a cloverleaf, and you can tie up two highways.

I think the key is SLOWDOWN. It’s self-advertising. If just a tiny number of people start in each city, millions of people will be involuntarily involved at first. Then, the REASON for it can be spread far and wide through the interwebs. The people who are SPREADING the word need not appear to be the instigators. They can appear to be simply disinterested third parties who are reporting on what is happening. Pretty soon, it will be common knowledge why these things are happening, with no one the authorities can blame or arrest. If enough people just don’t feel like going the speed limit, is there much the cops can do about it?

Especially since Rush Hour in most cities ALREADY involves massive bumper-to-bumper jams—it should be a SNAP to increase tens of millions of people’s commute from 90 minutes to three, four, five hours!

If people DO go out and buy a couple of $100 beaters, and crash them into each other during rush hour...

"You would give up?"

Not by a long shot.

I'll keep fighting the good fight, practically alone, it would appear.

You people can't possibly win because you don't have even a clue about who the enemy is.

Just keep telling yourselves that the Republican Party is the answer to all of our woes, and you are deluding yourselves.

No wonder we have Obammy in the WH. You all helped put him there by your shameful ignorance.

Em, thinking you are likely “the enemy.” Clearly you’re not part of the solution. Get out of the way.

No.

(But I'm thinking of changing my FReeper name to "All" just so I'll be more popular.)

Is there a way to post on a thread so that everyone else who has posted sees it in his “My Comments” list? I mean a simple way.

Well, you’ve been here a lot longer than I have - I was hoping one of you Class of 98 or 99 guys would have figured that one out.

But no. To my knowledge you’d have to actually list all the posters individually. I think this is why the ping lists got going in the first place.

By the way, are you on the “Tenth Amendment” ping list?

"Designer, are you saying you didn't vote for McCain?"

Who I vote for remains classified.

I sure as heck did not work to nominate him, though. Did you?

I knew John McCain could not, and would not be elected, and when the Republican Party nominated him, I knew we were scrood.

No although I did tell and American friend of mine who wanted him, that he was Rino.
