Evolution debate persists because it's not science

By Raymond H. Kocot

...

But did you ever wonder why Darwinism's general theory of evolution, sometimes called macroevolution, has been debated for over 150 years without resolution? The surprising answer is Darwin's macroevolution theory is not a legitimate science. The National Academy of Sciences clearly defined science in its 1998 guidebook for science teachers. The definition begins with [stating that] science is a particular way of knowing about the world, and ends with, "Anything that can be observed or measured is amenable to scientific investigation. Explanations that cannot be based on empirical evidence are not part of science." In other words, a legitimate scientific theory (a hypothesis or idea) must be observable in real time and must be testable, yielding reproducible results. That is the core of the scientific method that has brought man out of the Dark Ages.

Because confirmable observations and generating experimental data are impossible for unique events like life's origin and macroevolution theory, world-famous evolutionary biologist Ernst Mayr prompts evolutionists to construct historical narratives to try to explain evolutionary events or processes. In other words, stories are all evolutionists can muster to support macroevolution theory. If macroevolution theory, which must rest on faith in a story and is considered to be scientific, why not the creation story. With that in mind, it is no wonder the molecules-to-man debate has persisted for 150 years...

Ah, I see.

Conjecture based on fanciful assumptions of what may have occured in the distant past is as good as hard DNA evidence taken from a virtually contemporaneous event.

As you wish, but not a very brilliant analog.

Uuuum... do you know anything about how researchers arrive at these "fanciful assumptions"?

The Free Republic hardcore evolutionists sound exactly like and use the same tone as the far left leadership of the Democrat party. They are all hardcore evolutionists whose worldview presses them to explain away the first eleven chapters of Genesis at all costs.

They all ultimately end up accepting homosexuality as not so wicked and sinful as the Bible clearly says it is, an abomination. Just like the father of lies, they say, "Yea, hath God said?"

Death entered the world by sin, and fools make a mock of sin.

Uuuuum... most scientists don't give a rats patoot about genesis. They care about getting published and not eviscerated by their peers.

Crevos on the other hand...

The worst of it is how damaging it is to Christianity. In college, I saw people lose their faith when confronted with reality in science classes. It's a stumbling block to my peers, many of whom believe the propaganda that all Christians are uneducated and, furthermore, don't want to be educated. I am a 100% creationist, believe that the Bible is without error, and believe that salvation is obtained by grace alone, through faith alone, in Jesus Christ alone.
Well if you believe the Crevo BS then the bible *has* to be wrong. That's why they are stripmining and destroying the conservativism by piggybacking on top of it.

I give Crevos one or two more generations max. The internet is already destroying crevo ideology among the young.

Interesting parallel, since the same reasoning that assigns parenthood and kinship in court cases is evidence of kinship among all living things.

But again -- at root the real heat in this particular debate tends to center on religious, rather than scientific issues. If you scratch the surface of an ardent Creationist, you're likely to find a person who is seriously worried that "evolution is true" implies that there is no God.

Well said. Add to that the fact that if they believe that the universe is not 6,000 years old, then the Bible must not be true.

This comes from an inability to grasp the various meanings of Hebrew words and an innate anti-intellectualism. Not one Young-Earther I've asked on these threads has ever made public their scientific education and work background. I wonder why?

I don't know anything about welding. I've never been trained in it and have no work experience. Imagine if I posted an article that promoted ideas on welding that were completely out of line with welding techniques and knowledge. In fact, the article claims that you can weld steel to ice cubes. If some people with actual welding experience and knowledge showed up to set me straight with the facts, would I accept their knowledge or call them atheists and boot-lickers at the Cult of the Temple of Weldingism? I would hope that I would do the former.

That's exactly what the Young-Earthers do. They blindly post things that they don't understand and insult anyone who actually knows what they're talking about. You try to rationalize with them, point out that the incontrovertible truth, and try to reason with them on the Bible. They don't understand it because they can't.

Scientists? Where did I say scientist in the post you answered?

.... I said The Free Republic hardcore evolutionists

The Free Republic hardcore evolutionists have long exhibited strong negative opinions concerning the accuracy and authority of Genesis. They have ranted about it for years, in thread after thread.

They repeat the sentiments of social leftists and atheists such as Dawkins, Hitchens, Eugenie Scott, and any leftwing scientist in the very radical ACLU.

All deny that we are "Endowed by our Creator with certain inalienable rights".

The think our rights come from Big Government and judicial activism.

Because unlike the Bible, it is based on solid research.

Now that is a crevo smackdown. I guess society has *evolved* past creationism. That should earn you some bile.

I don’t like the idea of ecclesiastical government...

I am an atheist... fags should not get married, abortions are murder, throw the illegals out, keep your paws off my gun cabinet, keep the perverts away from my kids, and stay away from my wallet...

This is all I ask, but the ecclesiastic secularists are making me their enemy and I’ll join the creationists in hanging them if I get the chance...

JUST TO CLEAR UP WHERE I STAND...

It’s all part of their plan to make homo behavior “normal”. It’s incredibly obvious, isn’t it? Evolution is introduced into our schools, and then it advances to teaching that gays are just like you and me. That’s the way your hardcore Commie works.

Wow... we're hitting the tinfoil hat trifecta here.

I do love the logic here.

Science -> Evolution -> Homosexuality -> Communism

Therefore:

Science = Communism.

You are not a conservative, you are well on the left, most likely a social liberal, which is why your tact matches that of the far left.
