How old is the earth?
AiG ^ | Bodie Hodge

Posted on 02/21/2009 6:03:46 PM PST by GodGunsGuts

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth (Genesis 1:1).

The question of the age of the earth has produced heated discussions on debate boards, classrooms, TV, radio, and in many churches, Christian colleges, and seminaries. The primary sides are:

*Young earth proponents (biblical age of the earth and universe of about 6,000 years)1

*Old earth proponents (secular age of the earth of about 4.5 billion years and a universe about 14 billion years old)2

The difference is immense! Let’s give a little history of where these two basic calculations came from and which worldview is more reasonable...

The word was “and” not “to”

Remember, God is watching you and waiting.

So why are you stalking me across threads with that threat?

As I said I wasn’t quoting but even so “evening” marks the beginning AND “morning” marks the end.

Beginning TO end captures the sense of beginning AND end.

Huh? You twist my position once more. Remember, God is watching you and waiting.

What are you, some kind of weirdo?

Your words ....

“Those who need the ToE for their chosen career fields can take it at the college level. The only reason to push it in high school to kids who are never going to need it, is to push an ideology on them.”

So why are you stalking me across threads with that threat?

I am not stalking you across threads and it is not a threat. It is a statement to remind you that it is a sin to lie. As I said before, it is not a threat since I have no power to influence God's judgement of you. That is totally between you and God. But your reference to it as a threat is telling. Are you worried?

That’s no evidence. You’re contention was that I was trying to shut down science.

Try again because that was an EPIC FAIL.

No, I’m not worried.

Yes, posting that from one thread to another is stalking.

Yes, posting that from one thread to another is stalking.

I have been active in both threads over the last days. It is not stalking when one is already active in a thread to respond to someone in that thread.

Physician, heal thyself.

I've asked you several times to provide sources to back up your accusations against me and as yet you haven't.

But your reference to it as a threat is telling.

The reference to a threat is from your own words here in post 257 Lying is a sin. Your behavior and judgement are between you and God.

It's only telling what you said....

Don't forget that lying is a sin.

Yes, posting that from one thread to another is stalking.

Does reposting over and over in different threads that inane post of yours trying to force others to select one of your two options classify as stalking?

When you carry something from one thread to another, that qualifies as stalking.

Interesting. One cannot repeat something on another thread if they say it on one thread?

They are totally relevant questions, which no evo has yet supported.

No evo so far has shown the reasonable support of an opt out option over outright ban on the teaching of creation in schools. They’d rather have the school districts waste money in lawsuits than make a reasonable, workable compromise.

Poll results have shown time and again that the majority of parents want to have creation and/or ID taught alongside evolution in the public schools and the evos will have none of that.

Must be that their faith in their theory is so weak that they can’t handle the thought that their kids or someone else’s might hear about creation and believe it.

So the only option they go with is banning everyone else’s viewpoint but their own so they can have a monopoly on the system at taxpayer expense.

Funny how evos have no problem with forcing their ideology on others and scream like banshees when they think that someone else is doing the same thing to them that they do to others.

Hmmm. We are content with having Churches for each belief...

Uhhhh, strawman.

...and content with having religious courses in schools.

Uhhhh patently false assumption AND a strawman if it were true. Congratulations!

As was asked before, show us these "religious courses" in your tolerant NEA run public schools, k-12, in your area.

I won't even get into Christianity itself, the evidence is simply too stacked against you.

You, on the other hand, would shut down every church but your own and ban the teaching of evolution and geology and astronomy and physics and nuclear science in schools and colleges since it comflicts with your beliefs.

Yawn....you're projecting once again, or as you wish, projected, and will obviously project again and again, etc. etc. etc.

I posted before an example of a school district that required all ninth graders to attend religious courses.

Well, tpanther, still no sources to support that accusation against you, as per usual....
