Police are preparing to make an arrest in the murder of Congressional Intern Chandra Levy...
...an inmate in the D.C. corrections system has told other prisoners that he killed Levy after seeing her in the park where her body was found.
The inmate is identified as Igman Andique. He is in jail for attacks on other women in that same park.
The case has stumped police for years and ended the career of California Congressman Gary Condit after he was romantically linked to the 24-year-old from Modesto.

Igman Andique ....... Bosnian or Turkish quite possibly...Another fine Muslim import
WRONG seems to be illegal from El Salvador
It's always a pleasure to witness the destruction of a congresscritter's career. All the more so, should it be unjust!
Could they be teasing Condit to see what he does now?
Condit is involved in some way.
He prepared a timeline with great gaps, lies, and crossed days on it for the police.
He found out Chandra was missing a couple days later from her parents, said he would immediately call the authorities and get something done, but did nothing for some time (I can’t remember how long).
He went to awkwardly weird lengths to hide things — when his flight attendant GF had questions about him and this missing girl on TV, he returned her call right away, from a faraway middle-of-nowhere McDonalds on the ONLY day he ever missed a House vote. On a different occasion, he drove miles out of the way to deposit a McDonald’s bag in the trash, and when someone saw him do it and retrieved the bag, it contained an expensive man’s watch from Beverly Hills.
Chandra had confided in only one person about their affair - her aunt. She told her aunt that she wanted to stay in D.C. and marry him. She was in the process of having to move back home after her internship was over, when she got a call, searched on her computer the area of the Rock Park (where she was eventually found), and left her apartment without any I.D. on her (as Condit always requested her to do). She called her aunt first and left a message, saying that she had some exciting news for her.
It all points to Chandra being told something great was going to happen (he would leave his wife, perhaps?), and to meet him at this park.
Condit told a different paramour to call a certain number, should he die in flagrante... He worked hard to keep his double life separate.
Every day that summer, things were getting hotter and hotter, closer and closer to Condit being found involved in what was looking like a murder case.
Then Mohammed Atta and friends came to town and blew Condit’s little problems right out of the papers. Yes, when Congress shakily gathered on the Capitol steps on 9/11 and sang “God Bless America,” Gary Condit was the only one smiling.
Good one. It occurs to me that if there's anything to this $25K stuff, they would have quietly gotten a warrant and bugged Condit's phone(s) some time ago.
BTW folks some video on this from KGO's 11 PM newscast is up at the link now in addition to the text.
bump for morning....
I’d not heard that Kasich was involved.
Damn, and I thought he was one of very few good guys in congress.
Guess I was wrong again.
This case was forgotten by the public for awhile. I always felt that Condit was connected somehow.
“A rumor at the time was that John Kasich and Condit were friends and thats why Kasich left congress.”
I hadn’t heard that, but it would surprise me if Kasich was trying to be “bipartisan”.
“A rumor at the time was that John Kasich and Condit were friends and thats why Kasich left congress.”
I read somewhere once that it was also why Scarborough left congress.
Maybe his middle name is "Gu."
