If North Korea were hoping to open bilateral diplomacy with the US through its latest round of brinkmanship, Hillary Clinton dashed those hopes on Friday.
Many analysts have interpreted North Koreas talk of impending war and its threat to defy the UN with some kind of ballistics test as a bid to push Pyongyang further up the foreign policy agenda of Barack Obama, the US president.
But the US secretary of state said such sabre-rattling was ineffective.
North Korea is not going to get a different relationship with the United States while insulting and refusing dialogue with the Republic of Korea, she told reporters in Seoul, continually stressing that Pyongyang would have to dismantle its nuclear arms within the framework of six-party talks.
The six-party nations, other than the two Koreas, are the US, Japan, China and Russia.

Worries. ;-)
North Korea's official response to Hillary: Oooooooooooooooo!
This is a "warning"? It doesn't even qualify as a "stern admonition". After Barack meets "unconditionally" with Ahmadinejad and Chavez, he'll be hard pressed not to meet under the same circumstances with KJI. The North Koreans will stress that fact, and the Euros will support the little pipsqueak (KJI, that is, not Hussein).
Riiiiiight. Like the NKs always do what Clintons tell them.
“Toto, I’ve a feeling we’re not in Arkansas anymore.”
“North Korea is not going to get a different relationship with the United States while insulting and refusing dialogue with the Republic of Korea,””
Why would they want a different relationship? The one they’ve had for at least the past two administrations has gotten them lots of money and food aid while letting them develop their missile and nuclear programs.
I’m sure they’re worried, Mme Secretary.
The South Koreans are toast.
Yawn...NK must be really scared.

Act badly, but please don’t talk about it, as it makes the job of covering for you more difficult.
North Korea is not going to get a different relationship with the United States while insulting and refusing dialogue with the Republic of Korea,
Oooohhh, I sooo scared now Crusty Pants!
