Safe haven for next year if you paid most of your tax liability this year.

Exactly. A capitalist system cannot work when bankers who fail to nurture profits and avoid losses are propped up by citizen thieving friends and accomplices in government. We need Scrooges in charge of banks, and government restrained by Constitutional bounds, else all we average folk loose, big time.

What we've got now is big, ignorant, corrupt, special interest oriented, dictatorial government favoring one group of citizen over another - a civil war is brewing for sure.

Hey, I lost money in my 401K, how come the underwater mortgagee is given my tax money, but I'm left out in the cold?

Oh, yeah, duh - the banker is the one who is helped by this action, only by accident is the underwater homeowner, our Senators and Congress pod people don't care. Representatives of the lobbyist horde are these creeps.

The banker ought to loose, he gave gobs of money to a poor credit risks - he ought to be out of business, post-haste. He is a @#!% lousy businessman!

“Tell me WHO is going to leave their 4th of July family barbeque party and local fireworks before the dinner hour to drive into a restless city from the ‘burbs or anywhere else on the night of the holiday?

Rick is nuts to schedule the Tea Party for one of the most oddball times and dates I’ve ever seen in my 1000 years of activism.”

Well, I WILL GO—actually lots of folks do travel infrom the burbs to see fireworks, Taste of Chicago, etc. There are fireworks on both July 3 and July 4. I did not know if he has actually picked July 4—or is saying July 4 weekend. Of course, he picked it because of the symbolic nature of the day. Tho I I don’t have 1000 years of activism, I don’t think he is nuts, and if people really care, they will go. It could get a lot of media exposure and be an educational experience for the onlookers as well.
Can’t think of better way to spend the day—go downtown, do the Taste, Tea Party and stay for fireworks with like-minded citizens. Just sayin...

Of course lots of people travel into the city from the 'burbs all the time.

But not that many on the Fourth unless they're footloose and fancy free and want to brave no parking, traffic jams and restless natives roaming around in the night-time hours.

Since the suburbs have their own fireworks and since mom has her own Taste of Family Barbeque Dinner Party, it's a lot of competition for a lakefront Tea Party from 7 PM on the evening of the Fourth till early morning the next day.

I DO really care and would love to go under ordinary circumstances, but you couldn't drag me to the downtown area on a holiday when too many of the natives are beered up and restless.

I understand the symbolism of holding the Party on the Fourth. I hope you have a good time and enjoy the glow of participating in a notable and inspiring event. I'll look forward to an eyewitness report from you.

Leni

Santelli ought to set up a way for those of us who live far away from Chicago to participate - kind of like a telethon - but where people call in - show the homes we're paying for - and the bills we pay on time.

And how all of us would use the $15,000 per person these bailouts are going to cost. Maybe Rick can invite Sowell, Dick Armey, Dave Ramsey and others...

<<Great ideas—No reason couldn’t have a Texas Tea Party, a Louisville or Knoxville Tea Party, an Omaha Tea Party a California Tea Party, Well you get the idea. Could be simultaneous & nationwide; just a matter of local folks picking up and carrying the ball.

Wondering, Did Santelli set the time for 7:00 p.m.?

I agree that many folks might not care to go down—I used to be one of those folks, but seems to me that reluctance to go downtown has changed over the past decade—more people seem to think nothing of it—perhaps because so many people have moved out from close-in burbs—sadly, my county, once bastion of conservatism is not all that Republican any more :(. Personally, I have gotten fairly familiar with parts of City because of my children’s sporting events.

For me, unless I have to be out of town, I will be there. A life-time memory?! I would think this event could be organized almost like a Conservative Congress/Convention with folks staying at certain hotels that are relatively close in and taking train in to Navy Pier or wherever it is. Make a holiday or vacation of it. Not sure of availablity, but would think not too late for a close-in suburban hotel block to be reserved.

Tho hotel rooms are not cheap, even tho I live outside the City, my family members have often opted to stay downtown at hotels for conventions because of the convenience.

AM I THE ONLY ONE THINKING THIS IS BACKDOOR REPARATIONS?

No, not backdoor.

It is a blatant, in your face, front row center, ES&D if you don't approve kind of reparations. And...

Not just for blacks, but also for all those other downtrodden, like, illegals, bums, drug addicts, criminals, liberal community organizers, pimps, hustlers and every other type of n'er-do-wells that has had to struggle. Now, they simply are given YOUR money, a little redistributin' going on down there.

Whatcha gonna do?

You're right - that is a good idea. A tea party for Florida would be nice... Most fireworks are done over water if possible - and that would be the perfect time to throw tea into the water...

REALLY? WE allowed this to happen....now all we can do is sit and wait until America gets desparate enough to fight back...I will do my part to help those that really need it...and put some money underneath my matress...stock some food...just in case....and carry a big stick....just in case. Otherwise...I will go about doing what I always have...work hard...teach my children...and look to God for answers. We are a little too late to change this momentum.....HANG ON FOR THE RIDE AND SEE WHO SURVIVES.

“There has to be ways of fighting back WITHOUT compromising principles.”

Our country is too far gone. There is only one way out of the mess we allowed, and the answer is in my tag line.
