Obama, don't lose goodwill - Tutu
BBC News ^ | February 18, 2009

Posted on 02/18/2009 4:38:58 PM PST by Oldeconomybuyer

Archbishop Desmond Tutu has warned Barack Obama of the risk of squandering the goodwill he says the US president's election has generated.

In an article for BBC News, he says it would be "wonderful" if Mr Obama apologised for the invasion of Iraq.

He also says he prays that Mr Obama will be tough on African dictators.

The Nobel Peace Prize winner adds that the UK's standing in the world has suffered because of its co-operation with the US in the "war on terror". [snip]

He calls Mr Obama's election an "epoch-making event that filled the whole world with hope that change is possible".

Is Tutu wearing a tutu? He sounds like it. And by the way Desmond go polish a trailer hitch while you’re at it.

So Tutu is saying it’s racist to militarily depose non- African dictators.

Hey, Obama - apologize for the Iraq invasion and see how much “goodwill” you will lose here at home. You’d be better off telling Tutu to go pound sand.

Why does Bishop Tutu give a rat’s ass about Iraq except that he is a leftist fellow traveler.

The first African dictator that the Obamoron should be "tough on" is Tutu. Aside fom being a nitwit and a waste of space, the man is a complete and total idiot.

How tough? While we were being "tough" toward Saddam...

1. Uninspected flights landed in Iraq, contrary to UN regulations
2. Saddam corrupted the oil for food program
3. Saddam and his sons tortured and killed Iraqis
4. Iraq's's military fired at US jets which were enforcing the no fly zone.
5. Saddam gave money to families of suicide bombers
6. Saddam co-operated with Gaddafi in nuclear research
7. Saddam drafted Iraqis into an army with the goal of "liberating" Jerusalem

Even Joe Biden told Charlie Rose, on January 27, 2003, that Saddam's actions made it necessary for us to invade Iraq.

Biden says (at 14:17) "The whole world ...knows Saddam has weapons."

Biden says (at 24:00) that he guesses that 1. the war will be relatively short and 2. the biggest problem be dealing with all the deserting Iraqi soldiers.

"Obama's election an "epoch-making event that filled the whole world with hope..."

WAKE UP - the world (and many here in America) sees Obama as a savior. What is happening before your eyes is unprecedented.

Be tough on African dictators, but not Middle East dictators.

"Obama's election an "epoch-making event that filled the whole world with hope..."

Why?

To say so implies that there never has been hope until this.....

.....which means electing Obama could never have happened

But it did happen, which means there always was hope even though they said there was none.

Thinking though liberal logic makes me ill.
