NY Post Cartoon Links Obama to Dead Chimp

A New York Post cartoon that appears to link President Obama to a violent chimpanzee drew criticism Wednesday on media Web sites and from civil rights activist the Rev. Al Sharpton.

The cartoon in Wednesday's Post by Sean Delonas shows a dead chimp and two police officers, one with a smoking gun. The caption reads, “They'll have to find someone else to write the next stimulus bill.''

The cartoon refers to Travis the chimp, who was shot to death by police in Stamford, Conn. on Monday after it mauled a friend of its owner.

It links the chimp to Obama, who signed his administration's economic stimulus plan on Tuesday.

“At its most benign, the cartoon suggests that the stimulus bill was so bad, monkeys may as well have written it,'' columnist Sam Stein wrote in the liberal-leaning Huffington Post. “Most provocatively, it compares the president to a rabid chimp. Either way, the incorporation of violence and (on a darker level) race into politics is bound to be controversial.''

So, if you are black, gay, a Kennedy, or connected to any of the aforementioned you may do or say anything you dream of saying or doing, but if you are white you are to back down and bow down to the tyranny of the minority.

"They'll have to get someone else to write the next stimulus bill." They didn't kill the bill (and they almost suggest we still need another one). They killed the (supposed) author who is likened to a monkey.

Look! I'm about as un-PC as anyone here. I don't like to defend any sort of correctness, but this was in very bad taste.

Obama did NOT write the stimulus bill, so THAT is the most direct and obvious thing!

I know this. You know this. But Obama being its champion is the "writer" in the eyes of at least 90% of the viewers of this cartoon. Saying that he didn't write the stimulus bill is sort of like suggesting that the speeches he gives aren't his either.

That is true, and it’s a good idea. However, the cartoonist, bless his heart, was guilty of giving the public the benefit of the doubt regarding reader comprehension and recognizing the obvious.

People who have large adult male chimpanzees living in their homes have had ample opportunity to know that this sort of thing is "common" ~ which is why it's such an unusual sort of thing to do.

So, yeah, we'll use their personal tragedy to make political points elsewhere ~ and maybe they'll pay attention to the warnings given about having large adult male chimpanzees living in the home.

How convenient, shafton fails to mention the astronomical racist black attacks on causian Americans.

If Osambo gets his way, America will be the next South Africa with a Mugabe in charge.

At best it will stir up racial strife, at worst, riots and violence..

That's often the case whenever Sharpton gets involved.

But we'll see how much attention the MSM, especially the lefty New York MSM, give this.
