Ant Algorithms Argue Against Evolutionary Origins
by Brian Thomas, M.S.*
Traffic jams are a frustrating part of modern life, and many dream of the kind of uncongested roadway systems shown in futuristic movies like Minority Report. But some researchers have suggested that ideal traffic management algorithms already existin ants...

A weak argument in my opinion (though I’m a creationist). How often do ants have to navigate a one lane trail?

There’s just no possible way to explain social insects via evolution. Just way too complicated and brain size way, way too tiny.

Complete with an ant traffic cop. Thems ants are ingenious!

Ants and bees are identical clones within a colony. The survival of an individual ant becomes irrelevant. As long as the colony survives, their collective genetic code survives. The basic genetic unit of ants is the colony, not the individual ants.

Thus, these algorithms must have formed together all at once, as would have been the case if they were created by the God of the Bible. God's a programmer!

I’m always amazed by how many tasks individual ants (or bees) can perform, with no training whatsoever. That information is hard-wired into place, upon hatching. Pretty amazing stuff, really.

both, but I’d be willing to give you the benefit of the doubt on this one.
I just watched a fascinating piece on hornets in the Japanese alps.

Ants and bees are identical clones within a colony.
You are forgetting that queen bees (on their nupitual flight) can and seek to mate with many drones, from other colonies.
One queen can thus have varying genetic material to fertilize her own. Worker bees from the same colony can vary.
But then perhaps I'm putting to fine a point on it, for the context within which you used the statement.
To: BlueDragon
...that would be “too fine” a point, rather than “to” , which would’t make sense...

"Could nature have selected mutations that led to ant algorithms, as neo-Darwinism maintains? This would seem impossible, for without each algorithm already present and integrated with pheromone and tactile sensory inputs―as well as the motor control and muscular systems―the ants would all die."
Just because the didn't have the 'final algorithm' didn't mean they couldn't live, they just were as efficient. Those that developed better algorithms lived more efficiently and multiplied more.
