The U. S. by far remains the worlds leading manufacturer by value of goods produced. It hit a record $1.6 trillion in 2007 nearly double the $811 billion in 1987. For every $1 of value produced in Chinas factories, America generates $2.50.

I couldn’t agree with you more.
Whatever America was, it surely is gone from the face of the earth, since these globalist’s found a way to loot our domestic economy to pay for their agenda.
It really hurts to think we have let the country go.
To: hedgetrimmer
Yup, you got me, I was totally responsible and made a huge pile of money selling out trade unions and political types like Dodd, Schumer and Franks.
But hang in there, your saviour, along with his aforementioned cronies, said he'd make it all better again and I'd get mine.
Maybe you can come visit me in the re-education camp?

From your posts I gather:
1. You never respond to direct questions,
2. You get your inaccurate information from the socialist, anti-Walmart, Union sponsored websites.
To: hedgetrimmer
Right! The country was much better off when the socialist unions had total domination.
To: nyconse
God if Obama addressed trade which he won't in my opinion...I would be ecstatic. That would make you part of the problem. Your tag line is accurate, buying American is a proper and patriotic thing to do. But having the government make economic decisions will add to our problems, not to mention the world's financial crisis.

your saviour,
You're projecting. That ties you firmly in with the socalist/communist/anarchists who use the Alinksy playbook.
Why don't you have a real discussion? Or is it because your position is clearly on the side of the destruction of the US domestic economy in favor of the globalist elite? Because that is what "free trade" deregulation of US laws has done and who "free trade" favors.
To: ColdWater
The country was much better off when the socialist unions had total domination.
You're talking about NOW, after 30 years of Bush, Clinton, Bush. Socialist unions are stronger than ever thanks to them.
Don't forget Reagan. Isn't he the one who allowed teachers to unionize? You people have worked on this for years, and the destruction of America is not almost complete. What's next for the few Americans left? A billion population in the US, with an 'immigrant' military? Care to let us in, or don't you want us to prepare?
To: palmer
But having the government make economic decisions will add to our problems, not to mention the world's financial crisis
The government constitutionally can make decisions about tariffs to support the domestic economy. Since the government is supposed to be of the people of the United States, it follows that they should make decisions that favor the American people. You apparently are an anarachist capitalist who thinks that the American people should have no say over the domestic economy because if we did it couldn't be looted to 'globalize' the world economy. If the world economy can't be globalized, then the G7 and their slavering corporatist minions won't achieve global economic control.
America is founded on independence. No one here should give a fig about the world's financial crisis, at least until our domestic economy and independence is restored. By bringing it into the discussion, you make it clear your loyalties are elsewhere.

You got the protectionist you want, let’s see how your method works out in the real world.

I heard Obama say the trade should keep flowing...as for Canada, this is probably the least offensive trading partners as they don’t have slave labor, child labor or starvation wages.

Walmart a billion dollar corporation...pays it’s workers so little, I and other tax payers have to pay for their employees basic needs...food and shelter-not to mention health care...this is offensive. I don’t want to subsidize Walmart or any corporation.

Sure, he's in Canada. He's stupid but he has some adult handlers and I believe every word uttered by a pol.
However until the reporter that just asked the question about violating WTO agreements mentioned it I'd forgotten the other big supporter of restricted trade; the moonbats that show up at WTO conferences. That "battle in Seattle" was a hoot.
Man, protectionists have some strange bed fellows.

Obama could do no worse to this country than you free traders have...one almost believes you hate this country and its people...why else would you endorse a policy that ensures the destruction of the greatest Republic that ever existed.

Don't forget Reagan. Isn't he the one who allowed teachers to unionize? Your re-writing of history will not work here. Teachers had two unions BEFORE Reagan. Goodbye.
