Palin's teen daughter wishes pregnancy came later

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — Bristol Palin loves motherhood, but the teenage daughter of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin says she's not getting much sleep these days.

Bristol Palin says in a two-part interview on Fox News Channel's "On the Record" that she wishes her pregnancy had "happened in, like, 10 years so I could have a job and an education and be, like, prepared and have my own house and stuff."

Palin goes on to say that son Tripp, born Dec. 27, brings her so much joy, she doesn't regret having him at all. She's engaged to the baby's father, Levi Johnston.

The governor also made an appearance in the interview, which took place Sunday in Fairbanks.

Part one of the interview aired Monday night and the second part was scheduled to air Tuesday night.

I try to keep an open mind on Palin, but the extent to which her advocates keep trying to make morally corrosive excuses for her children makes that hard.

Got it.

I was referring to this little gem in post number 1:

Didn't they say they are going to get married and avoid making this kid a bastard child ?

and then S&F posting "What!, Me!, What did I say?"

If yes, then she’s from an alien civilisation and I can’t support her for President; if no, then we are interested in her decisions in this process—if she wants to continue to put herself forward as a public figure.

Sounds like she loses either way with you. If you want a politician who has no normal family issues you are going to have to find one from an alien civilization. Reagan sure wouldn't suit you since he had a lot more than this in his family history.

Do you really think that baby would be better off being raised by strangers?

There is nothing worse than blaming a child for being born.

Oh yes, there is. Murdering the child so he/she cannot BE born. If Bristol had an abortion early on, what would these sanctimonious saints have said? Not a thing. They wouldn't know.

Bristol made a very common mistake, but she chose LIFE. That isn't so common.

“Caroline Kennedy is like, umm, 50+ years old and Bristol is like, um a teenager”

I guess what I was getting at is that Kennedy talks exactly like her, but I have yet to see a single quote laced with all of the filler words :-)!

I know how old Bristol is for heaven’s sake :-)! Say the Clinton’s kid made a similar quote @ 18? Do you think it would have been reported that way?

“Sounds like she loses either way with you. If you want a politician who has no normal family issues you are going to have to find one from an alien civilization.”

She only loses under lemma b if she was negligent in her daughter’s upbringing—I don’t know that to be the case (but I sense that a lot of her defenders fear that that might indeed be the case).

Do you, for instance, seriously believe that Palin can any longer stand as a credible advocate for abstinence-based sex education—never mind abstinence-only?

It was probably mostly her child’s juvenile irresponsibility that created the situation, but we do circle back around to questions about thing like that.

“Do you really think that baby would be better off being raised by strangers?”

Ah. Maybe we are getting down to brass tacks here.

Do YOU think that adoptive parents are strangers to the children they commit to raise?

Do YOU think that adoptive parents are any “stranger” to a newborn infant than its biological parents?

Have you people never been teenagers? Or parents?

Or like, you know, humans with failings like you know?

WTF?

In a perfect world, things would be LIKE perfect, you know?

Maybe the Palins should have locked Bristol in her room until she was an adult? Or not let her date or be around boys ever?

For those of us who aren’t perfect, and for those of us who live in the real world, God bless this family for taking take of family.

If Bristol got an abortion the radical feminists would have put her on the cover of Ms magazine.

IF the Gov. can’t be president on your terms, does that mean you can’t be a member of a church whose clergy has sex with children, other women, or with same sex.
That would take in all faiths.
