“But, of course, you neo-confederates don’t really care about the Constitution.”

(Just FYI, CAPS in this post is not intended as indicating shouting, but it is meant to be an EMPHASIS - forgive me for not wanting to code this whole post...)

SERIOUSLY??? This is what you seriously believe? That we care NOTHING about the Constitution? How can you honestly come to that conclusion. The reason these states are even CONTEMPLATING reaffirming their sovereign rights as states against the Federal Government is because the Federal Government is NOT obeying the CONSTITUTION!!! What other options does a state government have to compel the Feds to comply? This is NOT about WANTING the “Union” to dissolve! It’s about WANTING to KEEP the UNION UNDER the restraint of the CONSTITUTION!!!

I honestly cannot comprehend where you are coming from in saying the WE are traitors for contemplating these issues. Those who are unwilling to lay their lives on the line to DEFEND our CONSTITUTION are the ones who are traitors. There is NOTHING, I repeat NOTHING illegal or WRONG morally, in discussion.

Now, I understand how the Civil War started, and how brother stood against brother. The people of the North (and I was raised in Illinois, so I got the “Union” version of History, BTW), were CONVINCED that the Confederates ONLY cared about Slavery. That the ONLY reason they wanted to secede was to KEEP their slaves, and subject humans to their control.

If you ignore the actual ISSUE that brought this to a head (yes, it was slavery), you would realize that it WASN’T all about “Keeping their slaves”. It was not about “freeing the slaves” either — although if you asked any soldier from the North chances were that’s exactly what they THOUGHT they were fighting for...

No, in actuality what the soldiers of the North fought for, and WON was the right of the Federal Government to OVERRIDE states’ rights - on EVERY ISSUE - NOT JUST SLAVERY! As someone correctly pointed out I personally think that the reason the South did NOT win was because morally they were in the wrong, even if LEGALLY AT THE TIME, they were right.

Could slavery have ever ended without blood being spilled? I doubt it seriously. However, it was the proverbial “straw that broke the camel’s back” when it came to the governments in the South asserting their rights against an ever-increasing Federal Government.

Thank the LORD slavery is GONE from this nation. However, the issues of States’ Rights is STILL relevant! And, it is for THIS reason that talk of this nature is not only MORALLY correct, but LEGALLY correct as well.

The only traitors on this thread are those who insist that the Constitution does NOT require the Federal Government to abide by its restraints, and recognize the States’ rights to Sovereignty under the 10th Amendment. If you would like to see states NOT have the right to consider these things, then you’d better get busy suggesting and AMENDMENT TO THE CONSTITUTION!

No, this was settled back in the 1860’s, We had a war. God’s Side won, the cowards lost. Losers don’t get to write history.

secessionist = traitors

How dare you. Cowards? There are no words, at least not that I can say without getting into trouble. You do not, I repeat do not know America's history. Start reading around 1750 and go forward, you might learn something.

“Washington, D.C.-based Center for American Progress broke out state-by-state allocations that represent 69 percent of the total cost of the act. Tennessee will get at $10.27 billion, or 4.2 percent of its gross state product, the group claims.”

Make no mistake - Marxists are NOT pacifists! If it will give them power they are definitely not above violence of the very WORST kind... I only hope that there is still enough members of our military that would disobey an order to fire upon the people of the U.S.. However, if Obama gets his way with his armed citizen security force, that will be a moot point. The only ones accepted into Obama’s new version of the SS would be those who have no qualms about putting down “insurrection” as commanded by their Dear Leader - never mind if they are right or wrong legally, or morally - that matter not when people are as brainwashed as they ALREADY are...

The Marxists have been planning this for a LONG time now. And, they are DEFINITELY not against violence when it comes to their “progressive” plans.

BTW: I don’t know how many on this thread are aware of this, but back when Clinton was President the JTTF and the FBI, released a pamphlet detailing things to “watch for” when it came to DOMESTIC terrorism. One of the bulletin points specifically mentioned “CONSTITUTIONALISTS”. I’ll go google to see if I can find a copy of the pamphlet as I don’t have a copy on this computer. I fully expect that we will again see Obama following Clinton on this and will make criminals out of EVERYONE who believes that the Constitution matters - as it’s obvious by Obama’s own words that he thinks its time has passed...

Ah, so you ENJOY being a slave holder... And, it’s absolute bullcrap if you say you never deal with government officials in running your business. ANYTIME you HIRE or FIRE a Chinese citizen you MUST deal with the COMMUNIST CHINESE GOVERNMENT (or do you now know the labor laws in this country you claim to do business in???)

Please don’t start the whole “Yankee vs. South” thing. I was born and raised in Illinois, and I COMPLETELY understand (now as an adult) the TRUTH about the Civil War. Not all of us “Northerners” are idiots... As for one of the people you addressed - they just signed up a few weeks ago - and from their comments on this thread (even to the point of asserting that China is NOT COMMUNIST) is obviously a troll. Try not to let them get to you, and as I said, please know that there are those of us up here in the “North” that fully support what your states are doing. It’s NOT about the South vs. the North. It’s about OUR Constitution!

In fact, I’m seriously considering moving down there now. I don’t want to be in my (very) liberal state when the SHTF.

How many of these resolutions have passed? I know Oklahoma has passed theirs. Anybody else? I’m hoping some other states will pass theirs so the New Hampshire legislature takes ours off the table for serious consideration.

I agree with you on that point... Anyone who accepts Federal Money for what should be a state project are basically just ASKING for more Federal Government control over their state. It’s not as if there are no strings attached...

Oh, how I wish, that more people actually understood the Constitution, and could SEE how our government is perverting it (not just through the Federal Gov’t either).

It’s very hard to get people to realize that nearly 60%+ of what our Federal Government (in conjunction with State Governments) do nowadays is NOT Constitutionally authorized. This is where the liberals come in with their “common good” arguments.
