Senior FCC staff working for acting Federal Communications Commissioner Michael Copps held meetings last week with policy and legislative advisers to House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Henry Waxman to discuss ways the committee can create openings for the FCC to put in place a form of the "Fairness Doctrine" without actually calling it such.
Waxman is also interested, say sources, in looking at how the Internet is being used for content and free speech purposes. "It's all about diversity in media," says a House Energy staffer, familiar with the meetings. "Does one radio station or one station group control four of the five most powerful outlets in one community? Do four stations in one region carry Rush Limbaugh, and nothing else during the same time slot? Does one heavily trafficked Internet site present one side of an issue and not link to sites that present alternative views? These are some of the questions the chairman is thinking about right now, and we are going to have an FCC that will finally have the people in place to answer them."

This is getting really, really scary.
We will all have to learn to speak in tongues!
Barack Obama: America’s version of Hugo Chavez?
“Liberty doesn’t work as well in practice as it does in speeches.”
The word says “if you ask for an egg he will not give you a scorpion and if you ask for a fish, he will not give you a stone, but God will give the Holy Spirit to those who ask”...so it is possible.

Waxman’s face reflexes his soul.
These folks are going to have to be kept busy, one way or another, or they will find more and more stuff like this to become exercised over.
The meaning of peace is the absence of opposition to socialism. -- Karl Marx
Have you watched "The Hugo Chavez Show" online at the Frontline website.
...Reports from those advisory boards would be used for license renewals and summaries would be reviewed at least annually by FCC staff.
This is way over the top and unconstitutional. It clearly infringes on Freedom of Speech by placing penalties on it in the form of license renewals. The "advisory board" would be nothing but a bunch of fascist 0bama blueshirts.
FU Waxman.
This is getting very, very scary. The DhimmiRats don’t like the rules...they just change ‘em.
The future looks bleak...time to go check the inventory.
Does ANYONE really believe that this has anything at all to do with “fairness” and not just a way to silence conservatives?
I have said that the trigger to the 2nd Amendment is when they started to try to take guns away, but now I believe that THIS will be the trigger. If this stands, then the rest of the Constitution may as well be written on toilet paper.
BINGO!!!!!!!!!!
Still be nice if Waxman's god would send down a lightning bolt to retrieve him for a retrofit. He's really not adapting well to the cool weather!
