I'm pinging the entire Florida list. If you want off my FReeper Convention ping list let me know.

In the interest of time, instead of taking the time at the convention itself to come up with a list of topics we want to talk about, I'd like to get a Top 5 wish list from everyone prior to the convention.

Don't send me your top 5 wish list yet.

I'm hoping that this Ping will:

1. Let y'all start thinking about what those topics should be.

2. Find a volunteer to step up that will be willing to compile everyone's suggestion and let me know what the Top 5 topics are so we all can have some advance notice. Also I'm sure our invited guests would like to know what the topics will be.

I'm going to hope that someone will step up quickly. I hope y'all won't assume that "someone else will do it". I will post again with the name of the person you should send your list to and we'll try to have topics to that person by 3/1/2009.

Mica is our rep and would be a good guest with a good conservative record IMHO topics for us here is homosexual marriage 2nd amendment taxes immigration(even though I am a legal immigrant, now a proud American) affirmative action pork spending o and can we boot out all liberals from our state including ACORN I've noticed that a man named DR Joyner is doing the rounds here pushing his teachers union agenda and is hosting school parents meetings, sending flyers home with the kids and posting in high school newspapers. It seems that he is pissed off with the tax reduction we voted on and wants to get rid of it. When I asked him to get rid of pork spending and why can't the union pay some money for the schools he brushed me off and would not take anymore questions from the parents The reason I am saying this is because it seems the teachers union is making a big push to brainwash parents as is the homosexuals right now and we need to fight back as people are believing this Dr Joyner including our local rep who wants to raise taxes and he is a republican for crying out loud

Where is the convention planned to be?

Fun fact - it was I who organized the first Florida Freeper convention...which was held at the Marriott hotel on Sand Lake Road in Orlando. That must have been around 1997-1998, and was before state Chapters started to form.

There is an active Christian Coalition in Florida, with a number of county and regional branches. The state Executive Director is former Florida legislator Dennis Baxley who lives in Ocala, though I don’t know him. I would strongly suggest working with them, either as a separate group or not.
