Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) on Sunday bemoaned what he called politics as usual and criticized President Obama's early Cabinet choices as typical Washington appointees.
"I'm not happy, and most of us aren't at the lack of true bipartisanship in approaching this legislation," McCain said of the stimulus package during an interview on CNN's "State of the Union."
The eight-pound, thousand-page measure is "the old business as usual," McCain said, criticizing the president for going back on his pledges of transparency.

I can’t wait until he loses his senate seat next year. That will be great news. I guess he will have to resort to just being Lindsay butt boy again.

"Get outside the Beltway; get outside of Washington. Get people who have succeeded," McCain said, pointing to businesspeople who backed the McCain campaign. "Get the Meg Whitmans and the Carly Fiorina and the Fred Smiths and the John Chamberses. Get people who haven't been inside the Beltway, who haven't been part of this incestuous relationship that has caused the special interests and the national interest to somehow be distorted to a degree that the American people have lost confidence in what we do in Washington."Will someone please adjust McCain's morphine drip please?

"Get the Meg Whitmans and the Carly Fiorina ..." In other words, get naive, inexperienced and or incompetent liberals who yearn for power into office. And if they happen to be female, you can sell them as feminists, too! What a package!
Those PUMAs sure brought it home for ya, didn't they John?

I guess this is his way of begging people not to re-elect him.
Having said that, McCain has been so well-established as an outsider to his party and a potential friend to Obama that he is a great source of criticism. If HE is bashing Obama, it may very well make some moderates think about what he's saying.

He mailed me a fundraiser. I “unsubscribed”.
I’m tired of McCain. He wasn’t a leader in the 2008 campaign, and the Republican Party should not look to him as a leader now.
We have a new crop - lets harvest and let the old field lay fallow.

McCain is tainted.
A turncoat to conservatives. I was going to say turncoat to the GOP but that doesn't fit.
The GOP is tainted also.

To take a technique from Joe Biden:
Listen to me:
The bipartisanship in the House was in the opposition. Let me repeat. The BIPARTISANSHIP was on the opposing side of this crappy legislation.

I note that McCain speaks from a position of knowledge on the subject, an insider if you will. The more this guy flaps him gums, the more I realize what a complete ass he is.

Yes, I held my nose (tightly) and voted for McLame vs. Zero, but I will be casting my vote for any Republican or Independent who runs against him next year.

Personally, I don’t care what John McCain says, laments, whimpers, whispers, yells or otherwise utters. He, like most in congress, needs get out of our government, go away and shut up.

Personally I think his criticism is welcome. I think many here can not cut him a break. He isn’t kissing Obama’s butt like they predicted so they kick him again for good measure.
That said he isn’t really leading the opposition like he could but that is McCain he seems more comfortable on the outside even from those who could love him. We saw it on the campaign trail with his inability to hit hard and just keep going. He always had to come back and tone things down and that hurt him dearly in the race. It is sad because he could have been a great leader but seems to be caught up with aspiring to mediocrity but it is without a doubt mediocrity from the heart and one can give him that.
What we need is a leader who is unafraid. We do not have that yet but the stage is set.

“I was there at inauguration. Millions of Americans are invigorated and inspired by this young president, and he’s working hard to bring America together,” McCain said.
ROFLMAO!! Give it up Mac, you ran the election like it was the 80’s again and got your behind handed over.
Now shut up and let the real Republicans teach you a lesson about running against the crooked DemocRATS!
