Sens. Olympia J. Snowe, Susan M. Collins, Arlen Specter...a betrayal history from February 13, 1999
From the Baltimore Sun ^ | February 13, 1999 | By Jonathan Weisman | Sun Reporter

February 13, 1999

Ending a tumultuous year of political scandal, the Senate acquitted President Clinton of high crimes and misdemeanors yesterday, after House prosecutors failed to muster even a bare majority of senators in favor of removing the nation's 42nd president from office.

snip

Five Republicans -- Sens. Olympia J. Snowe and Susan M. Collins of Maine, John H. Chafee of Rhode Island, James M. Jeffords of Vermont and Arlen Specter of Pennsylvania -- voted to acquit on both articles of impeachment.

Appears these traitors have a long history of "crossing the asile"

Suggestion, does anyone think that a petition to Michael Steele, from FReepers requesting the three be stripped of their Committee appointments and then booted from the party, would do any good?

Second question, have FReepers ever thought of forming a PAC?

To the mods, I searched before posting this thread. This is my first post, If I made an error I apologize.

Their vote for this abomination, this latest attack on our next generations, is serious enough that these turncoats should be stripped of their assignments.

You know when you clean house you need to get the stuff from under the bed too.

Well, there are never any ramifications for the sellouts, so they continue to sell us out. And there are never any ramifications for the Democrats and their treason, so they continue. At some point, the feeling these people have of being insulated from all of us needs to be, uh, disrupted.

Great post and thanks.

It’s important to remember how far back the treachery of these RINOs goes.

I doubt anyone will punish these three at all though loss of election. All three will keep their seats until they decide they don’t want it anymore. We are a country of weaklings. Look at Lindsey...everyone hates that freak and he won election easily this year. He is a disgrace and still won. Another disgusting creature about to be reelected next election is that sex crazed Vitter in Louisiana. He probably will be reelected because voters forget about wrongs after awhile.

Did anyone watch CSPAN during the vote, Susan Collins was glad-handing and yukking it up with Harry Reid and the rest of the commies.

Maine, you know what to do.

Well done, however you might want to put "Clinton acquitted" in the title for other searches.

The GOP has put up with these infiltrators way too long. They were allowed to remain and cripple the party in the most important times.

Now, the national economy must die to educate the people and Republicans to the error of their ways.

Two of them are now gone, but no thanks to the Republican leadership.

Jim Jeffords made the fatal mistake of switching parties. The Democrats used him up and then threw him away. Unlike the Republicans, they don’t tolerate traitors.

Lincoln Chaffee saw what happened to Jeffords and therefore declined to switch parties. But he continued to betray the Republican party. Nevertheless, Bush and Rove and the RNC supported him in the primary. He is now gone, not because the Republicans gave him the boot, but because the Dems preferred to replace him with one of their own, even if he did vote with them on every important bill.

Now it’s predictable that the Republican leadership will do nothing to punish the traitor three, who voted against the party on what was perhaps the most important vote since the founding of our Republic.

I’ve said it before. These traitor RINOs are like yellow dogs or cowardly Muslim terrorists. The more you ignore or tolerate them, the more they will creep out and bite you on the ankle at the worst possible moments.

If you reward bad behavior, bad behavior is what you will get.

Before Maine does a thing, we need some “balls of Steele” and kick these turncoats out of the party. Make a public scene about it.

very serious violation of the public trust especially since they didn’t read the damned bill.

Of course, none of them read the evidence against Clinton either. That's a matter of public record.

In each Primary, going back as far as one cares to remember, our established GOPers either held their voice even endorced and campaigned for these three “incumbents,” particularly Specter, over conservative challengers. From Bush to Dole and McCain, they all did the ‘loyal’ party thing. They were able to do so because there was no price to pay for such hypocracy.

The way to rid the party of these RINOs is to start a national pledge stating that the signers will not vote for any Republican that supports, campaigns for or endorses any of these three jerks.

The Dems will not rescue them if they see a chance to pick up their seats. Remember Packwood. Loved by Dems, always the so called Mavrick or liberal Pub. Once the Dems did not need him, they turned on him with a vengence and he got flushed from the Republican party.

I’d like to see the group of drooling, mouth breathing, kool-aid drinkers come to this and defend their grand thoughts on how “that’s the best we can do in that district” “we need a big tent”.

Those people can KMA!
