Representative Itse said on Glen Beck that HR 45 was rolled into the stimulus package. Any truth to this?

I hope so. If it was, we’ll know by tonight, and we can go down to our local governmental units immediately after Present Obama signs the bill and dare them to confiscate.

I heard that, too...

This is the Blair/Holt Gun Licensing (and Confiscation) Act!

It will make it illegal to own ANY firearm in America, (ANY FIREARM!!!) unless it is registered with the database in Washington D.C.

As a gun owner you will have to be finger printed, you will be required to provide your DL#, SS#, you must maintain a valid address at all times, submit to mental and physical health records being put on file, you will also be required to file any address changes and any ownership changes even if a private sale. Each yearly update will cost $25 PER WEAPON, and if you fail to comply you will lose your right to own firearms.

CHANGE!
FASCISM HAS ARRIVED!!!

For those who aren’t familiar with HR 45:

Blair Holt’s Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2009 - Amends the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act to prohibit a person from possessing a firearm unless that person has been issued a firearm license under this Act or a state system certified under this Act and such license has not been invalidated or revoked. Prescribes license application, issuance, and renewal requirements.
Prohibits transferring or receiving a qualifying firearm unless the recipient presents a valid firearms license, the license is verified, and the dealer records a tracking authorization number. Prescribes firearms transfer reporting and record keeping requirements. Directs the Attorney General to establish and maintain a federal record of sale system.
Prohibits:
(1) transferring a firearm to any person other than a licensee, unless the transfer is processed through a licensed dealer in accordance with national instant criminal background check system requirements, with exceptions;
(2) a licensed manufacturer or dealer from failing to comply with reporting and record keeping requirements of this Act;
(3) failing to report the loss or theft of the firearm to the Attorney General within 72 hours;
(4) failing to report to the Attorney General an address change within 60 days; or
(5) keeping a loaded firearm, or an unloaded firearm and ammunition for the firearm, knowingly or recklessly disregarding the risk that a child is capable of gaining access, if a child uses the firearm and causes death or serious bodily injury.
Prescribes criminal penalties for violations of firearms provisions covered by this Act.
Directs the Attorney General to:
(1) establish and maintain a firearm injury information clearinghouse;
(2) conduct continuing studies and investigations of firearm-related deaths and injuries; and
(3) collect and maintain current production and sales figures of each licensed manufacturer.
Authorizes the Attorney General to certify state firearm licensing or record of sale systems.

I notice that more than one poster filled readers in on what this is about.

Every day many new readers come to FR, and some are not as up on the issues of the day that we are.

I suggest that in the future when you post a thread that mentions something like HR 45 that you give a little explanation in the title or at least the body of the thread.

Thanks.

Only time “gun” or “firearm” appears is in the part that give $10,000,000 to the ATF for Project Gunrunner. That was H.R. 495, asking for 15,000,000 for Gunrunner

This woulld be very bad if true. This bill had no hope of ever passing on it’s own, even in a left wing congress.

Is it true you don’t need a license to buy a gun in Florida?

What about if you come to Florida on vacation- can you make a purchase?

I need to know...!!!! (real fast)

From what I gather it's a nasty rumor.

I checked the text the Obey said was Text and the word "firearm" is not in it.

Normally, I would think no member of congress has enough sack to do something like that - but these days...I just don’t know anymore.

And hearing from a member of congress saying this happened...

If true, we have just turned our country into a prison for most citizens will become "illegal" overnight.

+1

I was watching Beck and he asked Itse if Holt was included in the bill. He replied that it was.
