This was expected, but at the end of business earlier this evening, the Senate announced that Leon Panetta, an all-around respected official who has been in and out of government, was confirmed to become the next director of the Central Intelligence Agency.
The nod of approval was granted by a voice vote at the end of a long day. But Mr. Panetta pretty much sailed through his hearings with the Senate Intelligence Committee earlier.
Earlier in the nomination process, Senator Dianne Feinstein, Democrat of California, had seemed miffed that she wasnt informed beforehand that Mr. Panetta, a longtime friend and fellow Californian, had been the choice of the Obama administration. But she quickly withdrew her public discontent, once she had received assurances from President Obama and others that key officials, like Steven Kappes, a deputy director, would be kept on board.

And the NYT leads off with a lie in the opening sentence.
Remember how the Democrats fought over the Bush nominees? Nobody got an easy run.
Payback? Not with our current repubs....meow!
That pathetic Klintonoid has no business whatsoever being anywhere near an Intelligence Agency!
Hey, Leon is “all around respected”! All around the water cooler at the NYT.

Well, Hillary has been awfully quiet.
Wonder if some files are now available to someone else.
Why is the name Panetta bringing visions of a grilled flat bread filled type thinly sliced Italian rich ham?
True, but if you can give the White House to someone with neither intelligence nor experience, it's a minor point that the new CIA director despises his organization and knows nothing about the job other than what he learned watching Oliver Stone movies.
i love how they can’t just report news, but have to color it.
National NON Security!

Leon Panetta, an all-around respected officialThere's another Leon Panetta?
Apparently “respected” means he has given up classified information anonymously to the NY Times, so they have to say nice things about the weasel.
Doesn’t matter that the info was carefully planted propaganda that had nothing to do with truth.
What else would you expect from the Slimes in describing this devout Clintonista? BTW, what is Panetta's intel experience?
That sums it up nicely.
