SNIPPET: "(CNSNews.com) - Two provisions in President Barack Obamas economic stimulus plan could give the federal government the authority to oversee the medical decisions made between doctors and patients, critics warn, which could result in the rationing of health care.
The plan to make all health records electronic and establish an effectiveness board to review health care costs was part of the $838 billion economic stimulus bill that passed the Senate Tuesday."
SNIPPET: "Further, the legislation also spends $1.1 billion to establish a Federal Coordinating Council for Comparative Effectiveness Research, which would serve as an umbrella group for all federal health programs, including Medicare, Medicaid, S-CHIP, and veterans care, with 15 members from various federal agencies making determinations about health care needs and cost-effective treatments."
SNIPPET: "The bill also indicates that a doctor who is not a meaningful EHR user in terms of using patients health records to provide the most cost-efficient coverage could face penalties."
SNIPPET: "One problem critics note is that the electronic medical records will be mandatory."
SNIPPET: "Unless people have the right to decide if and when their health information is shared or whether to participate in research studies, they dont have a true right to privacy."

PRIVACY SUX!
OPINION:
It’s interesting that liberals kept mouthing the phrase like a mantra that “government should stay out of the bedroom;” yet not a peep from these same liberals regarding this health care plan and ALL the records in one big data base.
Apparently so.

Thank you.
Exactly.
keeping an eye on Texas, ready to move once they call themselves the independent nation of Texas
Texas will get the spotlight but Alaska will send the real message.
I have no clue what Sarah has in mind but if the Sarah bashing continues they are going to cross a line with a women at the wrong date and she may just rip Obama a new one, though I personally think she will just decline most of the pork/crack stimulus. She has already stated publicly that she feels that Alaska does not need to be in debt to the government. She is in quite an enviable political position that speaks a possible pivotal message for a better future America.
I hope that conservative legal groups are already submitting lawsuits against this invasion of privacy!
Will implant devices be used to implant chips? Is that next to be mandatory? Why not? The patient would not even have to be conscious.
If chips ever became mandatory then it's going to be my 9mm implant device v. their implant device.
