U.S. Senate Republicans are not planning to try and use procedural maneuvers to delay passage of a proposed $789 billion economic stimulus bill, the party's leader in the Senate, Mitch McConnell, said on Wednesday.
McConnell said there was a widespread feeling in the minority party that they "ought to vote and move on." He spoke after congressional negotiators said they had reached a deal on the massive package of spending and tax cuts to try and rescue the flailing economy.

I suspect a lot of folks are going to be upset when they realize the big tax cut is going to amount to 13 whole dollars a week for about 6 months. Those waiting for jobs from the infrastructure are going to be even worse off while all of the red tape winds around and around with all of the green roadblocks.

Bump for later.
:)
Let's see.
The media is for it. All the Democrats in the Senate are for it, including nine Senate Democrats who's state didn't vote for Obama. Obama is for it. Most Democrats in the House are for it. Three Republicans senators are for it....and of course the people of this country with fair warning voted for all these clowns.
Yet you come in "weak kneed feminized blabbering fashion" and complain about Mitch McConnell.
How pathetic.
If they dont want to fight they need to GO HOME!!!
We need to send them all home, one by one. It will take a long time but maybe someday they will understand that not ALL of America are mindless sheep-I guess only about 52% of us are.
Who did you mean to post that to? It doesn't make any sense to post that to me.
It is almost impossible to have 100% of your party with you on most issue. You will always find few who will vote against the party.
No it is impossible to have 100% of your party with you on any issue when you [the GOP] support RINO's and liberals for office and go out of your [GOP] way to defeat conservative candidates.
What was my post that you responded to?
Oh, yea "The GOP is a lost cause."
The GOP is it's own worst enemy.
It helps to remember that the Clinton-Bush coziness goes back to the days of Iran-Contra, when Papa Bush was supervising covert arms shipments to Latin America out of Arkansas (with drugs making the return trip) and Governor Clinton was busy looking the other way. Further, as was clear during abortive Republican investigations into various Clinton scandals, in the culture of impunity of Washington, politics stops at corruption's edge. Almost all major corruption is either bipartisan or common enough that one side can effectively blackmail the other.
What we got here is globalists... they're applying fascism in their marxist ends (like anybody born after 1940 would know the difference).
Here's the trigger. I'd say "wake up!" but it's a globalist mandate. Move aside. We don't need no steenkin living constitution. Hell, we'll make it up as we go! Let's party like it's 1939.
“quit blaming mitch. it is the fault of hussein and three rinos.”
I agree with you. He’s not my favorite, but I don’t think there’s a whole lot he can do at this point. The traitorous triumvirate screwed us all on this.

Yeah - I go back and forth between PO’d and sad (especially for my young children). PO’d at the idiot Obama supporters and the corrupt, self-centered, elite government in general.
Sad because American was the greatest country on the earth and it is fast disappearing as we once knew it: we already had all the “hope” and opportunity that any person could ask for, but idiot Obama supporters were and are too dumb to realize it. What's worse, he sold them on those sorts of messages, and we all are going to end up with something far worse than “hope” and opportunity - at least in the way sane people define those words.
It's been happening right in front of us for 50+ years (90+ if you go back to “the Fed”), and it has finally come to a head. I actually heard a congressman on Hannity today saying “capitalism is dead” and socialism is the way we are going - as simple as that. Like the American people have no say whatsoever. Pathetic.
Our wonderful Republic - the land of the free, the home of the brave - got hijacked. As you said - how sad.
Sure do wish I could argue with you.....

Yup, except I was born in ‘69 and figured it out. Never gave such things even the smallest thought until 2 days after the election, when something just didn’t sit right with me - “how could a man with so many issues be elected U.S. President - and not vetted at the very least?” Then I googled “Obama fraud” and my whole world changed. And here I am - I guess I’ve got this going for me :)
Why does he have so many offices?
It is time for another tea party.
Snowe, Collins, Specter. All of those folks should be embarrassed right out of the GOP. Sorry, thats crossin the line. At this point it’s just unacceptable. At least Harry and Nancy are busy battling one another and NOT getting a damn thing done. MIGHT give us a chance to start screaming on what they put in THIS time.
The groundhog has “porked” his head out of his hole and sees 6 more years of depression. God help us, it’s going to be a long winter with the RATS in charge.
My letter for all it’s worth:
It is being reported the Congressional Republicans have once again ignored the will of the American people and its own constituents pledging not fight against the stimulus package.
Has losing the last 3 elections not taught you a lesson? Has being shutout of power in D.C. not penetrated the GOP leadership? Is the party under the influence of Obamamania?
We cannot believe the party of limited government and lower taxes will not fight to save our country from destruction.
Please show me a Socialist country that has prospered, has military strength, or gives ANY person willing to work hard the ability to move up the economic ladder. You can’t, as there are none.
The GOP stands between giving liberal democrats their 40yr old wishlist items; items the MAJORITY of American’s do not want, did not vote for and are clearly telling you is not wanted nor acceptable.
If this stimulus package passes, put a tombstone on the US, cause of death - Suicide.
We expect much MUCH more from the party we support both financially and through activism. When the party has needed us, we have always been there. Now we need the party and you are surrendering.
As it stands right now the GOP has been locked out in DC. There is not another Reagan standing in the wings ready to fix the destruction being leveled against our once Great nation by fanatical Democrats. This bill will cause more harm to our country than any AlQuada or terrorist attack could.
Millions of us are watching, will you continue to be seat-warming RINO’s in conservative clothing? Will you continue to move the party to Democrat-Lite? Or, will you stand up and protect our nation and its citizens as you swore upon your oath to do?
Your oath demands that you fight against enemies both domestic and foreign. Make no mistake, this administration and the current Dem. Party are domestic enemies, hell-bent on the destruction of the American way of life and bringing our country as a Super-Power. You have a moral, ethical and legal responsibility to fight against this.
Do you jobs!!!
It’s true that Mitch can do little as far as party discipline. But he needs to give the American people time to give Congress a piece of their mind. I don’t know what can be done with the extra time but he needs to give a nod to the majority of Americans who hate this damn bill.
improved?
they didn’t let the GOP into the room from what I heard
Yes, that is why I put it in “QUOTATIONS”. Do we need to start a sarcasm font for the literal crowd?
