Conservative Civil Disobedience

If enough people break a small and oppressive regulation, something will have to be done at the government level. Think Tea Tax and Boston Harbor. Right now the inmates are running the asylum that is America (and Canada, as referenced by Steyn). It’s time for us to revolt. If our phonecalls and pleas to representatives are falling on deaf ears, then we have to do something to make them take notice. No, not bombing a federal building in Oklahoma City. But how about the equivelent of what Mr. Steyn and Ms. Shaidle do every day? They ridicule the rules, post over-the-top and “offensive” articles, and make people laugh at the absurdity of silencing thought and opinion.

If you get a ticket...do not pay the fine. Go to jail for the day.. make them feed, clothe and shelter you for the time.

You don’t need a stamp. Use your printer and print on the bill anything you want to say. Print “Geitner Is A Tax Cheat” right over the sig that’s there now. I wouldn’t use red ink. I would use a green ink to blend in unnoticeable in order to get as many into circulation as possible.

Yep, Claim 50 Deductions are your W-2.

I wouldn't recommend that. Your employer is required to notify the IRS when an employee claims 10 (or more) exemptions.

>>If you get a ticket...do not pay the fine. Go to jail for the day.. make them feed, clothe and shelter you for the time.<<

And fight the ticket tooth and nail. Imagine if every single person that got a ticket took it to court.

Get a speeding ticket? No prob. Request the maintenance records for the gun used. ;)

If you are clocked by one officer yet another pulls you over, insist that the one who clocked you actually write the ticket - even if he is in an aircraft.

Make it cost ‘em.

Buy under the table when you can.

Trade favors instead of hiring. Say your cousin is a painter and you're an auto mechanic. You tune up his car and change his oil. He paints your living room.

Yep, Claim 50 Deductions are your W-2.

Careful - there are penalties if you underpay your taxes through the year by too large an amount.

I am designing a bumper sticker that I will soon make available. In white lettering on a black background, there is the Obama campaign’s symbol with the international ban sign (circled with a line though it). In large capititals there is one worrd next to the graphic: RESIST.

Excellent!

It’s my recollection that you can claim 11 or so without a look see from the IRS. Check with your tax preparer. Or do 50 and suck it up.

IIRC, there is extra paperwork for more than 10. However, I would like to remind everyone here that there may be penalties if you have a large amount due at the the end of the year as a result of not having enough taxes withheld.

If you are simply a W-2 wage-earner, it is harder to do this.

If you owe more than $1,000 more in taxes at the end of the year (more than what was withheld throughout the year) you will have to complete a worksheet, based on the prior year's taxes, to see if you owe additional penalties on that extra tax due. If you can adjust your withholding correctly, and stay just below that thousand, then there shouldn't be any penalties due.

Uncle Sugar will not be denied his cut of your wages.

It may be easier if you own your own business, but I have no experience with that.

This can be through barter, craigslist, ebay, etc.

Barter, depending on how it is done, can be taxable (depends on what is bartered and whether it relates to your line of work).

For example, John is a Dentist who needs new cabinets. Jim is a cabinet-maker who needs expensive dental work. John and Jim work out an agreement that Jim builds the cabinets for John and John does Jim's dental work in kind. No money changed hands, but both benefitted. This is taxable to the IRS.

There is a census coming...you know to redistribute power, waste a few billions more dollars. I suggest this. In the race/ethnicity section, mark ‘native American’. If you’re born here, you are a native American. Fact. Let ‘em deal with that demographic.

Keeping our flag is good, but I kinda like the Gadsden Flag, too. I even did a big cross-stitch sampler of the flag, which is framed in my living room. Sometimes guests seem a little put off, but I don’t care. (Before I retired, it was effective hanging in my cubicle.)

Tip your waitress/waiter in cash; tempt them to underreport...

And keep it at 15% or below. They're probably a democrat anyway so no use giving them extra money.

A better approach is to avoid eating out as much as possible.

we're not France

True, but so far (and unlike Nazi Germany), the communist revolutionaries have not had to fire a single shot.

“If you’re born here, you are a native American.”

Good point; I’ll do it. (I actually am as much American Indian as Hussein is black — 1/16th.) Mess with the census figures.

If the IRS finds out, this will be taxable income to both parties. So, be certain the IRS doesn't find out.

>>Barter, depending on how it is done, can be taxable<<

Yes, I suspected someone may bring that up.

I simply don’t agree with the concept. Jesus asked to see a coin and asked who’s picture was on it and said to render to Ceasar what is Ceasar’s.

Imagine your Dentist/cabinet maker scenario where the participants deal in no actual greenbacks at all.

How does one that operates on barter render anything to ceasar since he is not involved?

And he is NOT involved in barter, that is for sure.

There are lots of fundamentally bad laws. I ignore them when possible.
