Critical Threats: Blank When None
Cheney warns of new attacks

Former Vice President Dick Cheney warned that there is a “high probability” that terrorists will attempt a catastrophic nuclear or biological attack in coming years, and said he fears the Obama administration’s policies will make it more likely the attempt will succeed.

In an interview Tuesday with Politico, Cheney unyieldingly defended the Bush administration’s support for the Guantanamo Bay prison and coercive interrogation of terrorism suspects.

And he asserted that President Obama will either backtrack on his stated intentions to end those policies or put the country at risk in ways more severe than most Americans — and, he charged, many members of Obama’s own team — understand.

“When we get people who are more concerned about reading the rights to an Al Qaeda terrorist than they are with protecting the United States against people who are absolutely committed to do anything they can to kill Americans, then I worry,” Cheney said.

Thanks JP. My hair stood on end for a second thinking there were 30 known camps in addition to ul-F. Of course, I assume, there are quite a few that we don’t know about and all of them are up to no good. Keep up the watch for the good side JP.

Algeria: Ten arrested in anti-terror operation
16 Dec. 2009

Algerian authorities have arrested ten suspected members of an Al-Qaeda cell in an anti-terrorism operation in the past two days, news reports said on Wednesday. The suspects were arrested in separate raids in the Algerian capital, Algiers, and in the east of the country, according to reports.

In the anti-terrorism operation in Algiers, police arrested six suspected members of cell linked to the Al-Qaeda Organisation in the Islamic Maghreb - the terror network's African branch. The suspects allegedly gathered "large" sums of money for Al-Qaeda which they had extorted from small businesses on the outskirts of Algiers.

Four more suspects were arrested in Stif, 300 kilometres east of Algiers. They face charges of providing logistical support to armed groups. The four suspects arrested in Stif are originally from Boumerdes, east of Algiers and from Bouira, southeast of the capital, and do not not have previous police records, according to Algerian daily El Khabar.

Saudi spies hunt al-Qaida in Yemen
Dec. 15, 2009

Saudi Arabia's intelligence service has established a station in Yemen's capital ostensibly to help coordinate a joint campaign against northern Shiite rebels along the kingdom's border. But its main task is understood to be hunting down the Yemen-based operatives of a resurgent al-Qaida that threatens the Saudi monarchy, and eliminating them with extreme prejudice.

The Saudis, longtime adversaries of the republicans who triumphed over the royalists in Yemen's civil war of the 1960s, have long distrusted their southern neighbors -- and still do. But such is the mortal danger the House of Saud sees in a resurgent al-Qaida in Yemen, ancestral homeland of Osama bin Laden, it has set aside old feuds to go after the jihadists.

Zawahiri's wife No. 2 urges women not to join jehad

Snip The wife of al-Qaeda’s second-in-command, Ayman al-Zawahiri, has appealed to Muslim women not to join the jehad themselves, but to support their menfolk in holy war, US monitoring groups said on Thursday. In a letter released by al-Qaeda’s media arm As-Sahab entitled ‘A Message to the Muslim Sisters’, Omayma Hassan Ahmed Mohammed Hassan called on the female faithful to support their husbands and male mujahideen, and properly rear their children.

Taliban Commander of Kabul Province - We control 70%=80% of Afghan lands - talk about Taliban - US negotiations is utter nonsense - we and Salafis must reunite against the infidels

Seifullah Jalali: "Again, this great Afghan nation confronts injustice – this time American injustice. We have arisen again, and we are confronting them with all possible means, including martyrdom operations. Their tanks, their bases, and their patrols have come under our fire, and they are no longer safe. We will force them to leave [Afghanistan], whether or not their claims that they will withdraw are true. We will force them to withdraw.

Mujahideen have a bomb for every occasion

Headley, Kasav's handler declares war on India

Snips: Al-Qaeda and HuJI commander Ilyas Kashmiri has issued a chilling warning to India in a letter that he sent to terror outfits. Kashmiri says he knows the routes to send suicide bombing squads into the country. Ilyas Kashmiri, the face of the Al Qaeda in NWFP is now training guns on India. TIMES NOW has accessed the copy of Kashmiri's letter, sent to various jehadi outfits calling for more terror attacks in India -- underlining a new strategy to spread terror.

Kashmirs was once a blue-eyed boy of President General Pervez Musharraf. He got a cash award from the president for slitting the throat of an Indian Army officer in the year 2000 but after 9/11, he became a suspected terrorist.

Leaked Australian blacklist reveals banned sites

Snips: The Australian communications regulator's top-secret blacklist of banned websites has been leaked on to the web and paints a harrowing picture of Australia's forthcoming internet censorship regime.

But about half of the sites on the list are not related to child porn and include a slew of online poker sites, YouTube links, regular gay and straight porn sites, Wikipedia entries, euthanasia sites, websites of fringe religions such as satanic sites, fetish sites, Christian sites, the website of a tour operator and even a Queensland dentist.

Cap and Trade appears to have already begun, noting carbon trading fraud in the EU already: (giving us a glimpse of what's to come:)

Biden issues positive clean energy report

Snips:

.....the administration is taking the critical steps to transform the United States into a global clean energy leader."

,,,,,,,,,US homes will have 26,000,000 Smart meters installed by 2013, triple the number now in service, the memo said.

There are plans to build and operate five commercial scale power plants with carbon capture facilities intended to help control greenhouse gas emissions.

Biden will discuss the measures at a meeting on climate change in Copenhagen next week.

PG&E sued over smart meters, slows down Bakersfield deployment

Pacific Gas & Electric has "paused" installing smart meters in the Bakersfield area because of complaints from residents that their new Pacific Gas & Electric smart meters are overcharging them. PG&E denies the allegations, noting that the rise in electricity bills some customers have seen come from other factors, such as regulator-approved rate hikes and air conditioning spikes during heat waves. Nonetheless, it has put a halt on new meters for now, utility spokesman Paul Moreno said Tuesday.

Complaints for power have now taken the form of a lawsuit. Pete Flores, of Bakersfield, claims in the suit filed last week in Kern County Superior Court that ever since PG&E installed a smart meter at his home, he's been charged for more electricity than he has used. Right now Flores – who says his average bill as jumped from about $200 a month to about $500 to $600 a month since he got a smart meter – is the only named plaintiff.

New data on EU carbon trading fraud undermines cliimate fight

In what is sure to provide additional ammunition for climate denial suicide bombers*, Europol, the European Union’s top law enforcement agency, has announced that more than $7.4 billion in tax revenue has been lost from schemes involving the trade of carbon credits.

US rejects biological weapons checks

President Barack Obama is sticking to the U.S. refusal to negotiate monitoring of biological weapons, the top U.S. arms official said Wednesday.

Trace mustard detected at (Umatilla) depot

Depot chemical operations monitoring workers detected trace amounts of HD mustard chemical agent vapor today inside a depot storage structure or "igloo" that houses bulk containers. The traces of mustard chemical agent vapor were detected during routine weekly monitoring. The vapor is likely due to a leaking bulk container.

There was no danger to the public or environment. The igloos haves a passive filtration system that prevents chemical agent vapor from escaping outside the structures. As a further protective measure after each leak is discovered, a powered filtration system was installed on the igloo. The leaking container will be identified, inspected, repaired as necessary, and decontaminated.

Oregon fines chemical depot contractor $111,000

The state of Oregon has fined the contractor operating the incinerator at the Umatilla Chemical Depot $111,000 for violations of hazardous waste and air contaminant discharge permits

Analysis - the Pakhtun, the Taliban and Imran Khan

Snip: Hate for the US is the problem of Imran Khan or his anti-Pakhtun allies. It is not the problem of the people of FATA. Their problem is occupation of their land by the international jihadi gangs. There are clear signs that the people of FATA are cooperating with the Americans in liberating their land from the jihadi occupation.

Imran Khan said one of the Taliban groups is made of tribesmen who hate the US and attack the state and society in Pakistan because they see the country in alliance with the US. This is a bizarre fantasy of Imran Khan having nothing to do with tribesmen in FATA. There are no tribesmen who are killing innocent civilians and security forces due to anti-US sentiment. The tribesmen who have joined the Taliban groups are seen as criminals by their fellow tribesmen. The tribesmen who have joined the ranks of different Taliban groups are lost to the global jihadi ideology of the al Qaeda and stand stripped of Pakhtunwali. They are no more Pakhtun! They themselves have given up their Pakhtun identity. They claim to fight for global Islam that disrespects ethnic sensitivities.

The militants, in Imran Khan’s own words in the interview, are 15,000. Clearly not all of them are tribesmen. They include the Punjabi Taliban and foreign terrorists. There are no signs that these 15,000 or so terrorists are backed by tribal society. There has never been any grand tribal jirga in any tribal area that backed the terrorists, local or foreign. The Taliban groups in FATA are Hafiz Gul Abrader Groups, Haqqani Group, Mullah Nazeer Group, Turkistan Brittani Group, Tariq Afridi Group, Mangal Bagh Group, and Maulvi Omar Group. These terrorist groups are killing indiscriminately inside and beyond FATA. None of them had ever been backed by tribal jirgas. In fact, some of them have banned jirgas and termed them as ‘un-Islamic’ institutions. These groups have to be crushed for peace in Pakhtunkhwa and wider Pakistan. Anyone seeking dialogue with such groups is the enemy of the Pakhtun and Pakistan.

Funding for jihad troubling, scholar says

Snips: More than 35 percent of Egyptians and Saudis interviewed in a recent survey considered it their duty to back regional mujahedin financially, a scholar notes. David Pollock, a senior fellow at The Washington Institute for Near East Policy, said the polling shows more than 35 percent of those interviewed considered it "an Islamic duty" to support Islamic fighters around the world.

Terror monitor - tape of captured US soldier due

Snips: The Taliban have announced they will release a new video of a U.S. soldier captured in Afghanistan, a U.S.-based terrorism monitoring group said Wednesday.

The only U.S. soldier known to be in captivity is Pfc. Bowe Bergdahl of Hailey, Idaho, who disappeared more than five months ago in Afghanistan.

Thanks. I appreciate the credit, but this was all Paul Williams. Someone on my campaign, a brilliant consultant named Vince Mariano, found the link.

Williams claims that the WSJ broke the story. Problem is that the WSJ posts almost none of its content on line. Jihad Watch seems reliable though and apparently Williams himself has a strong track record with regard to tracking such groups.

Paul absolutely does and yep on WSJ. If factual this is frightening. The folks here Yomin know folks etc. Paul deals with many Leo's. This is probably what Biden referred to

Biden predicted such a major catastrophe will hit the U.S. within “six months” of Obama taking office

Thank Vince for us and please stick around

I’m sure the LEO’s are informed but my concern is this administration. If we can collect dates when this began to happen, which compounds, a few of our folks here have contacts, we will pass it on. The brainstorming and sharing her is what we all need to do
