President Barack Obama took his economic stimulus pitch on the road today, with a town hall meeting in Elkhart, Ind., where he warned that the recession could...

The president took eight questions in a back and forth that lasted just under 40 minutes. One of them drew boos from the crowd when a young woman who identified herself as Tara said, "You've come to our county and asked us to trust you, but those that you have appointed to your Cabinet are not trustworthy and can't handle their own budget and taxes."
The crowd booed, but the president proceeded to answer saying that that the criticism was "legitimate" because, "you can't expect one set of folks to not pay their taxes when everybody else is paying theirs." However, Obama defended his tax-troubled nominees, saying he believes they made honest mistakes. "If you're not going to appoint anybody who's ever made a mistake in your life, then you're not going to have anybody taking your jobs," he said.
In answering a question about home foreclosures, Obama also took a not-so-subtle hit at former rival Senator John McCain, R-Ariz., "If you are like most people, including me, and you've got one house," he said with a smile. " Now, keep in mind, the house that I'm in, in D.C., I'm just borrowing that. That's the people's house." Last August, when asked by a reporter how many homes he owned, Sen. McCain could not remember.
Obama worked the rope line briefly before leaving to fly back to Washington D.C. Many in the crowd wore Obama t-shirts and hats, though outside there were a few signs of dissent. A small group of protestors waved pink pig-shaped signs that read, "Obama Pelosi Reid = Pork" and "Don't Enslave Our Children with Your Pork."

PALIN/TARA 2012
We're the folks "in the Heartland" buying his line of BS?
What? No insertion of “the friendly crowd”, like the MSM used to do with President Bush? Amazingly slobbering article.
And notice how he digs McCain about his houses?
Hussein cannot stand being in the WH, so he must get out before his adoring crowd.
What a sick man.
He’s got the votes. Why doesn’t he just pass it? I’d say he’s running for cover knowing the disaster he is perpetrating and wants it to be a Bi-Partisan disaster not his alone.
"You've come to our county
The first time I read that, I thought it said, "You've come to our countRy
I watched the whole thing and it honestly looked like amateur hour. He bobbed and weaved, never really answered the questions. He also has this uncanny habit of trying to be “cool”.
All in all, I thought he hurt himself by looking like a sleazy politician. I hope tonight he gets some tough questions from the press, I want to see how he reacts.
They voted for him didn’t they?
I thought Indiana was close, but went for McLame? Could be wrong.
“And notice how he digs McCain about his houses?

This is the president of the United States. And what is his top-of-mind awareness, an insult to a defeated opponent. No grace. No dignity. Nothing but a cheapshot artist. Sick, indeed.

I wanted to go, but was doing taxes hot & heavy. (Must I pay them ...? sarc)
However, I had to make a Wal-Mart run for sick child.
While there I had a “back in teh USSR” moment. Crossing the empty parking lot to my car, I heard the voice of The One booming from somewhere.
It was creepy.
I think some guys in a work truck repairing a sign had their radio cranked.
DH watched the live TV broadcast. He thought The One rambled on in answering in order to burn up air time as though he wanted to take as few questions as possible.
Come up with something original now Zero, Bush has left the WH and McCain isn’t running anymore.
ZERO is a a sleazy politician so his actions speak the truth! :)
Zero flies to Elkhart, the rv manufacturing center of the U. S. where unemployment is at 15%. Haven’t the citizens of Elkhart ever heard of diversifying their economy. They have all of their eggs in one basket. There is nothing in the stimulus bill that should cause a sane person to rush out and purchase a luxury item that is also a totally discretionary item as an rv is. I have one and if I could, I would sell mine in a heart beat. It sat parked because of high fuel prices and now because of the stinking economy. If you think that the housing market sucks, try the rv market.
The stimulus bill will provide nothing to help the people in Elkhart except for the extended unemployment benefits and the medical care provision. Nothing else in the bill will assure them a job, nor did Zero promise them any such today.
His trip to Elkhart was more symbolism over substance. Just another campaign trip. He cannot extract himself from his campaign mode. What an empty suit.
Yep, Rush touched on this. Elkhart is the RV capital of the world. So who killed the jobs? Envirowacko laws, Dems hatred of big vehicles, high gas taxes, and global warming nonsense. These people in Elkhart can thank Dems for them being out of work.
Wait till the hoi polloi find out the Porkulus Bill essentially lays the foundation for national health care with a health czar and attendant bureaucracy.
Rush gave page numbers this afternoon.
This is probably the reason OBumble needed Daschle so badly. Daschle is supposedly the expert on national health care, and I presume he'll be guiding the effort ex officio.
Oh wow, Tara is my hero.
Glenn Beck was commenting on this farce this morning as it unfolded. I wouldn’t have the stomach to watch.
Chump-O-Rama fumbled, mumbled and stumbled.
It’s not about the “economy.” It’s about pay-offs to his supporters.
I can hear the Obamamites chanting “we want debt! we want taxes! we want pork!”
