Why There Wont Be a Revolution
Americans might get angry sometimes, but we don't hate the rich. We prefer to laugh at them.
The poor you will always have, the good book says, but as for the rich man, he will wither away like a delicate flower in the midday sun.
The first prediction has certainly been borne out, but the second part (James 1:11) had not yet come to pass by the Panic of 1907, when Theodore Roosevelt warned of a coming reckoning against the "malefactors of great wealth."
Nor by 1990, when former Nixon aide Kevin Phillips predicted that Americans would rise to extract revenge on "the rich who got the benefits of the go-go years" of the 1980s.
As late as 2001, no less an authority than, uh, NEWSWEEK wrote in the wake of 9/11 that "the arrogant wheeler-dealer ordering a $600 bottle of wine with dinner has vanished utterly as an icon," which remained true until approximately 2002.
Well, listen up, you rich guys, this time we really mean it. The president himself is repelled by your rapacious greed, your kids are ashamed to admit that their mom is a banker, even your girlfriends are sick of your whining about your bonus, and you're going to have to learn to live on $500,000 a year like a normal person.
Oh, and by the way, nice watch. Is it Cartier?

>>The revolution has already started. We see the enemies of our country and have started to fight for our country. <<
Yes, it HAS indeed started. And nobody in Versailles on the Potomac has the slightest clue of how much anger there is and what happens when it explodes. They have ears, but cannot hear; eyes and they cannot see.
Unless you have an offline network of friends willing to come to your aid, and break through the ATF lines around your house....or unless you've decided to barricade yourself and your family in and make a show of it a la David Koresh while the news media turns you into a child molester or polygamist or whatever a la Eldorado....then it's all sound and fury significant of nothing.
* Not everyone who owns a gun is capable of killing a man.
* Not everyone capable of killing is capable of killing a federal for some kind of intangible human rights and liberty.
* Even fewer of those people are willing to sacrifice their own lives as well as the lives of their family to prove that point.
Anyone actually capable of all the above doesn't sit online and type responses claiming that they can do all the above.
I read your profile and the list of books that have been panned by the “jury.” I’m surpised Alvin Toffler’s “Future Shock” and “Third Way” weren’t on the list. I do agree with the jury on many of those that are listed, especially Ehrlich’s “Greening of America” and Carsen’s “Silent Spring.” Pure, unadulterated swill.
Agreed. However,a trigger could be if Acorn tries to steal the 2010 census.
“* Not everyone who owns a gun is capable of killing a man.”
Agreed.
“* Not everyone capable of killing is capable of killing a federal for some kind of intangible human rights and liberty.”
Agreed, though I disagree with you that liberty is an intangible.
“* Even fewer of those people are willing to sacrifice their own lives as well as the lives of their family to prove that point.”
Agreed.
On the other hand, there are people for whom liberty is worth doing anything and everything to achieve and maintain. People throughout history have done it. The United States was founded by men and women who did just that, and those who did the heavy lifting were in the distinct minority. They pledged their lives, their fortunes, their sacred honor to secure liberty for themselves and their posterity. I think you shortchange your countrymen. And you’re from Texas!
Just because we don’t post or bluster, doesn’t mean we ain’t here.
Reread the history of how this nation came to be. We are still the same humans yearning for freedom. Just the names/ruling groups have changed names. And if that tipping point ever comes, and I hope and pray it doesn’t, well, you know......

I couldn’t agree with you more as to the existence of the silent patriots. If you have ever read my posts, or my profile, you’d see that not only do I read history, and have for almost 50 years (I am 58, and the first books I read seriousloy were histories, though plain vanilla in their presentation due to my age; by age 12 I attempted the “grown-up” books), but I revere the Founders for the risks they took and the glorious nation they gave us. But, remember Franklin’s reply to the woman who asked, “Dr. Franklin, what kind of government have you given us?” He answered: “A Republic, madam, if you can keep it.”
Comea day the people will pay a visit to those politicians and blood will run in the streets.
Yes, unfortunately so
LOL, the ones I know dont know how to load a gun must less shoot one.
Don’t bet on it.
It may be that the best way forward as the United States is to give the new age values free reign in the areas that want to try them, while keeping the more traditional parts of the country strong.
I agree with you 1000%. This is a large country. The cultural and moral values have grown too wide and increase each day. IMO a revolution is inevitable if something isn’t done. Why not divide it, let everyone be happy? Makes sense to me.
If by that you mean “(Blue Stater Yankees) hate (Southerners)” then you’re right.
I think we hate them more.
Anyone actually capable of all the above doesn’t sit online and type responses claiming that they can do all the above.
Good point and I wonder how many millions that would do all of the above are not into posting on the internet forums. hmmmm
Americans don’t hate the rich, because even in the stupid socialist America today, we still aspire to be rich.
But, remember Franklins reply to the woman who asked, Dr. Franklin, what kind of government have you given us? He answered: A Republic, madam, if you can keep it.
This statement always makes me sad.
Why do you have such hatred toward older folks? Because many have handicapped parking spaces and draw SS which they have paid into for decades? You will get old one day too, asshole.
I sincerely don’t think the left would let anyone out from under their authoritarian thumb without violence.
It’s just antithetical to their ideology. Why, they KNOW BETTER, and you just have to comply. How dare you think that you can “live on your own”.
“They HATE US” to the point that they WON’T LET US GO FREE.
The left is a vindictive bunch of authoritarians that want you enslaved. And they’d rather have you dead than free of their control.
I guess we’ll soon be finding out...I certainly could be wrong.
