President Obama has demanded that defense chiefs review their strategy in Afghanistan before going ahead with a troop surge, the Sunday Times reported.

There is concern among senior Democrats that the military is preparing to send up to 30,000 extra troops without a coherent plan or exit strategy.

The Pentagon was set to announce the deployment of 17,000 extra soldiers and marines last week but Defense Secretary Robert Gates postponed the decision after questions from Obama.

I don’t know what he is doing, but before we send any more troops to Afghanistan, we need to set an end game strategy and figure out the larger problem which is Pakistan.

Thank you for posting this article.

Dear Prezadent Obamaer,

You obviously need some help (another Cabinet position, and I’m available), so here it is.

The SURGE worked in Iraq.
The more soldiers we put there at one time, the less will end up dying.

And remember folks he wanted the surge in Afghanistan because the surge was working in Iraq and he didn’t want it there. So he had to want it in Afghanistan to look tough. Also remember he said McCain wasn’t willing to go to the cave where Osama bin Laden was hiding. He also said “We will kill bin Laden. We will crush al Qaeda. That has to be our biggest national security priority,” in the debate. So much for killing Osama and crushing al Qaeda.

‘There is no military solution to Afghanistan’

I don’t know why people keep picking on LBJ.
I guess it is the same as Nixon. They like to beat a dead horse.

LBJ was advised that given the current situation the previous administration had left him, no matter what, we would lose. More soldiers would die and nothing would change.

LBJ got tired of seeing dead soldiers coming home. And I mean personally seeing dead soldiers coming home.

I need to copyright the phrase "without a coherent plan." I'll make a fortune over the next four years. Aside from the marxist/muslim viewpoint of Obama, it's like hiring a bookkeeper that can't add or subtract. The books just don't get done, and eventually nobody knows what the heck is going on.

Say a Prayer!

I say 'em every day, my FRiend. For our leaders' guidance, for the restoration of our liberties, our strengths and American jobs, for healing of our nation, and for our troops.

I mean really. Who is better qualified than General Petraeus to evaluate the quality of our military planning. Could it be Barney Frank? How about Chris Dodd? Or Joe Biden? or His Highness?

Will the MSM ever point this out?

Only if they think it will sell papers.

Will the drones who voted for him even care?

Only when bombs start dropping on their houses.

Leading Democrats fear Afghanistan could become Obama's "Vietnam quagmire."

These same Democrats still believe that Saddam and the Taliban should not have been removed as they were legitimate and legal governments. Just like Uncle Ho was the "legitimate" head of all Vietnam.
