President Obama has had, by general consent, a torrid First Fortnight. To put it another way, it has taken precisely two weeks for the illusion that brought him to power to be exposed for the nonsense that it so obviously was. The transformational candidate who was going to sweep away pork-barrel politics, lobbyists and corruption has been up to his neck in sleaze, as eviscerated here by Charles Krauthammer. Despite the fact that he came to power promising to ‘ban all earmarks’, his ‘stimulus’ bill represents billions of dollars of special-interest tax breaks, giveaways and protections -- which have nothing to do with kick-starting the economy and everything to do with favouring pet Democrat causes.
He has been appointing one tax dodger, lobbyist and wheeler-dealer after another. After appointing one official ,Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, who had unaccountably forgotten to pay his taxes, he then watched his designated Health Secretary Tom Daschle fall on his sword because he too had taken a tax holiday. Daschle was furthermore a prominent actor in the world of lobbying and influence-peddling. Leon Panetta, Obama’s nominee for Director of the CIA has also, according to the Wall Street Journal, consulted for prominent companies and sat on the board of a public affairs firm that lobbies Congress. The Weekly Standard reports that Secretary of Labour nominee Hilda Solis was not only involved with a private organization lobbying her fellow legislators on a bill that she helped sponsor, but she apparently kept her involvement secret and failed to reveal a clear conflict of interest.
In foreign policy, Obama has started by trashing his own country through grossly misrepresenting its history and grovelling to America’s enemies such as Iran, which has flicked him aside with undiluted contempt.

The despair may be a little excessive. The United States survived the Civil War. It survived Franklin Rosevelt. I dare say it will survive Barak Obama.

When Obama faces a real crisis, the Secret Service will have to break the lock on the bathroom door and drag him out, pull his thumb from his mouth, and remind him that he is the “leader” of the free world. Then he can wet his pants.

I’m sending this out to my list, including a few who really don’t want to hear it. Tough.
In a post-Obama world, people will be alive and paying taxes, and it is likely there will still be a country in the atlas known as The United States, but the Republic itself will be dead and impossible to recover.

And the majority of these brain dead nitwits still worship at his feet. Still singing hail to the King. How did we get so many sick Americans? Rock star Obama will destroy everything he touches because he is a little spoiled kid and never grew up.
Incidentally the market will revive itself no thanks to his bailout plan. Never in American history will the market destroy America's economics for very long. And this turd will sing phrase saying his bailout worked. Bailout will have nothing to do with recovery.

If you want to read something sane about the insane Obamamania afflicting “citizens”, hyphenated-Americans, the press, and other assorted closet cases, you have to read UK (or other foreign) papers.
The American media has fully signed on to their duties as 24/7 propaganda for DNC/Obama. Obama could crap in his hand and wipe it on his face and the media would applaud his “daring moves never before tried by an American President.”
Michelle was quoted during that visit to the school as saying to the kids that the First Lady 'pay' wasn't so good. How gracious, eh. Being First Lady for nothing is probably going to require a LOT more from the unlovely Michelle than making $1000 per day for doing nothing but showing up at a fancy office and placing a couple of phone calls. The visit to the school was because they 'needed to get out the White House'? They just got there, folks.
I remember how the Nixon girls complained about having to live in the White House. This is not a slam against Nixon, at all. I am fairly sympathetically disposed toward him because of his staunch of Whittaker Chambers, in his early years, when all of the Beltway was lining up behind their own State Department denizen, Alger Hiss. That goes a long way with me. I do remember the girls complaining about White House life, however.
I think you either appreciate what a great honor it is to be able to live in the White House, or you feel put upon. Which is it possibly already shaping up to be for the 'we're entitled' Obamas?
