This happens every year when the lake freezes, though never so many at once. Their bad judgment is revealed by the fact that the whole lake is not frozen. There is a large area of open water in the western basin which means the frozen portion of the lake surface is going to be unstable.

As I recall, there is even a barge company that specializes in retrieving P/U trucks from ice floes.

Happened in Duluth, MN several years ago. The USCG talked about send them a bill for services but never did.

Well, yeah, except that these dedicated Coast Guardsmen will risk their lives and health to save these foolish people.

“Call out Obamas FEMA”
By the time he calls it out it’ll be time to thaw them out. Best take care of the situation locally.

Well,,, it’s 52 degrees here today, and a lot of ice is melting and softening up. You wouldn’t catch me out on the ice today.
When I tried to go to your link, it froze up my computer. Told me it was full of pc viruses, and that I had to download some kinda pc virus killer. Wouldn’t let me exit! I had to Force Quit my browser. I’m on a Mac!

Im on a Mac! Some kind of an add. It does it to me too although I was able to back out of it. It did not freeze my computer. I am also on a Mac G5 OS 10.4
I think I will have to send the Plain Dealer an Email to complain about that ad.
