Nelson just said that he reached a deal with Collins.

So they wheel Kennedy in and help him poke his finger at the voting button (”No senator, that’s my ear.”) The bill passes, and they all fall on the floor laughing at that sucker Judd Gregg, who agreed to recuse himself from senate votes after being nominated for Commerce Secretary. Nevermind that no other senator thought it necessary to do that before.
Obama’s nomination of Gregg for Commerce Secretary is starting to become crystal clear. He didn’t need any old R to make pretense of being bi-partisan. He needed a Senator. One who would voluntarily place himself in limbo and short the Repubs a crucial vote.
Of course, there’s no hurry in confirming Gregg for Commerce sec, as the gov. agreed to name a repub replacement.
Besides, they figured a way to concede a cabinet post to an R without giving up much. Just start stripping the Commerce dept. of its authority. Round One: the census bureau.
Wonder when it’ll start dawning on Gregg what happened?

Thanks for the info. I don’t trust any of them right now! Neilson lying to the American people now. The ammendments will tick the bill back up to 900 Billion..but he doesn’t say that outloud. The interest will tick it up into the trillions. He doesn’t say that either.

Collins is being praised by Nelson, now. She must be just giddy with all of this attention. Oh, and of course, the dims bff, Arlen, is being praised, also.

Did anyone else notice how Nelson almost put a Freudian slip in there? he almost said the total bill was 850 Billion, but quickly changed to 750.

I thought so too but Nelson is leading this compromise that is larger then the original bill by $70B. Three Republicans does not make it bi-partisan. I have never been for throwing anyone out of the GOP, but this is a different circumstance. Any Republican supporting this bloated pork bill needs to be tossed from the GOP Caucus, stripped of committee assignments, and sent to the Dems. If they cannot be counted on to oppose pork then what good are they to Republicans.
Making a compromise with the RATs on this bill is a stab in the back to the Republicans in Congress who have stood tall in the face of an all court press by the WH.
Bush supported Ben Nelson in hopes he might switch and now he is stabbing American taxpayers in the back.
Attn: GOP, you just bought yourself 8 years of Obama.
If they get more than 3-4 Republicans or any Leaders I may just vote for Obama to ensure we get the full socialist deal.
We'll see how many cowards vote for this POS bill.
