Veteran banking analyst Richard Bove said Bank of America Corp (BAC.N) is not in danger of failure as the U.S. government is committed to keeping it in business, theflyonthewall.com reported Friday.
Shares of the bank rose 10 percent to $5.32 in trading before the bell, after reports that Ladenburg Thalmann's Bove thought the stock was a "strong buy" on cash flow and asset value basis.
Reuters could not immediately verify the report.

Bank of America Corp (BAC.N) is not in danger of failure as the U.S. government is committed to keeping it in business Uhh, I don't think that mean they are not in danger of failure. I think that means that failure is imminent.

Why does that sound suspiciously like “Nominee XXXXX XXXX has my support and I expect that he will be appointed shortly”...

There is a reason they had to make this statement,,,,

I checked the web for insider trading. Several of them are buying large blocks stock in BAC Sure, now that they are assured that Federal money will keep them afloat. My point is that, if it weren't for that assurance, they would be in trouble, so it is disingenuous to say they are "not in danger of failure". They wouldn't need the money otherwise.
To: ThomasThomas
I guess it is a new metric of bank solvency, if the Feds can’t bail you out, then you’re insolvent, otherwise, everything is great!
To: rabscuttle385
ya as long as the feds keep pouring money down this rat hole.
Look at the balance sheet!!
INSOLVENT!!
