The New York Times recently ran a seemingly endless and positively glowing story in its Sunday Magazine celebrating single-motherhood.
The title 2 Kids + 0 Husbands = Family says it all. The Times considers husbands and fathers incidental and altogether disposable. In reality, families with 0 husbands equals social strychnine.
In her new book, "Guilty: Liberal Victims And Their Assault On America," Ann Coulter offers a grim assessment of the consequences of women having children solo. Coulter discloses, 70% of teenage births, dropouts, suicides, runaways, juvenile delinquents and child murderers involve children raised by single mothers.

2 Kids + 0 Wives = Family
You hust know the NYT would have a fit over that.
2 Kids + 0 Wives = Family
You just know the NYT would have a fit over that.
The left (and Satan) have the goal of complete destruction of the traditional family unit.
Every policy that they push has this goal.
To paraphrase Rush:
The difference between liberals and Satan is that Satan knows what he’s doing.
I haven’t read the article, but I’d assume the worst of NYT and the boycott of it...and all those whom advertise for it is good.
So what has The Old Grey Lady had to say about the mother of the octuplets? Shouldn’t they be ecstatic for her, or is their admiration only for the more wealthy, or celebrities, who decide to get a ‘sperm donor’ so they can have their trophy children?
2 Kids + 1 mother + govt.tax(wage earning men) = Family
there you go. that’s the equation the dems want. single moms and their brood dependent on the government social programs... thereby insuring dem voters in the future.

Just in case anyone needs more evidence to see that the NYT is an embassy of Evil with a capital E. They deserve to go bankrupt and every employee be turned out onto the street with nothing. One thing that they don't realize is that their lies and propaganda will cling to their names and haunt them into the next life. Lying and promoting evil is indeed evil work. They will each individually reap what they have sown. And no honest or reasonable people view the NYT with anything but scorn.
At one time I read the NYT. That ended about ten years ago, and my only regret is that I didn’t make the decision to stop sooner.
Obama is not creating a society that is welcoming the single parent, with his move toward abortion support it would seem he is supporting views that are anti-single parent....kill the babies of those who are going to be single parent moms and free them of the burden, free the children of a horrible life. Maybe this thread should take a different vein with its criticism...Hmmmm?? I know many of you are pro-life, but the way this thread comes off...this is how it sounds to a single parent. You are my friends. I care about all of you.
By the way...if you know anyone who would fit the bill, send 'em my way! ::laughing::
FYI. My girls and I often talk about the good and bad we see in men/ guys and relationships. We talk openly about it. My kids are not a part of most of the statistics, PTL. My 22 yo is also a single parent, who chose life. The “sperm donor” ....well...I will be nice at leave him at that. He left a week before the wedding and 2 weeks before she found out she was expecting. My oldest completed high school (home school) at 17 yo, worked since she was 14, had a fulltime job as CNA/med. aide and at 19 got her own house (mortgage of course). My 17 yo finished high school (home school) last spring, has been working in the restraunt business since then, is planning to go to school for culinary arts, had a GEO tracker and last fall bought her own Blazer. My 14 yo could have been in high school 1 1/2 yrs ago, but had to wait to meet the policies of PennFoster, and just started high school. She bought 2 horses with her own money, works various babysitting jobs, etc and at the rate she is doing her school, will be finished by age 16. My grandson, 19 months old, is already ahead of children his age in development. GOD is GOOD. GOD is faithful!
>>>Ok, so, are you saying that I am a bad mom because I am a single parent to my 3 girls? No one needs to tell me that I need to have a good role model for them to see so they find the right kind of husband, but I don’t see anyone who is stepping up to the plate, not even in church, to be that for them. Would it be prefered that I had stayed in the abusive marriages, so my daughters we be further abused and choose that type of man for a husband?<<<
Please get a grip.
Lots of people have to live and work with one arm. It’s a struggle but people handle it. Two arms are still the preferred option, though.
Statistics are not individuals. You tell me you’re doing a great job with your daughters, but your individual case does not apply to the entire population of single parent households. Lots of children have to live and work with one parent. It’s a struggle but children handle it. Two parents, a mother and a father, are still the preferred option.
Since I’m a teacher, I can see the problem on a larger level. Ann Coulter is correct in her analysis. Yes, there are some individuals from single-parent households that appear to do well in my classroom, but there are far more that suffer from the same situation.
As far as your insult to good men - that there are none out there, even in church - perhaps you should sit back and re-read your histrionic posting. Good men are everywhere. And please, please never offer the argument “if you haven’t lived it... don’t criticize it.” Not only does that insult the intelligence and empathy of the reader, the statement explains that you’re not really open to anyone’s opinion but your own. If you want a discussion, don’t end it by telling the other person to shut up. It’s not the best way to attract good men.
Your post indicates you indeed need God’s grace in your life. Good luck in your journey.
Nor did I ask for your pity! Tell me to get a grip?! I have made many mistakes in my life and would be the first to admit it to my children or anyone else. Without God's grace, where is anyone?!
It is NOT an insult to a reader to say that without looking at things from the other's perspective be careful to criticize.
"If you want a discussion, dont end it by telling the other person to shut up. Its not the best way to attract good men."Thank you for the advice. I don't recall telling anyone to shut up. Thank you for the gracious UNDRESSING!
There is a big difference between a woman whose husband abandons her and a woman who chooses to have sex without marriage. That said, the basic truth is that raising children is a job that is hard enough with a mother and a father in the home, and very difficult for a single mother. Even solid two parent homes have difficulties, and there is never a guarantee that children will grow up the way the parents hope.
There are many malign influences in the world, and thankfully, God doesn’t expect any of us to be “perfect”, whatever that means. He just expects us to do our best, and when we fail in some way, to beg Him to forgive us, realize His unconditional love, cry sincere tears of repentence, and try again; depending on His strength, and not our own.
