I've tried both Boxer and Feinstein, but get nothing but busy signals or "mail box full" messages. That's a good sign. That means citizens are burning down their switchboards. But they also have forms on their websites to send messages. Click the link above to contact your senators.
Here is the message I sent to both of my senators:
Please vote no on the pork package. If you want to stimulate the economy, stimulate business investment and hiring and give people more money to spend NOW, cut the taxes. Cut business and investment taxes. Cut the payroll tax. Cut the personal income tax. Don't burden us or our children with trillions of dollars in crippling new debt. You cannot tax, borrow and spend your way into prosperity. The Chinese are going to eat your lunch! Scratch that. They've already eaten your lunch. They're now eating your home!
Regards,
Jim Robinson
I heard on FOX news that Feinstein is actually considering voting no. Now is the time to call. Put the pressure on and keep it on! The people do not want this trillion dollar boondoggle! Time for the senate to get a taste of the wrath of the people!!
Voinovich is ‘no’ now as well. Its Snowe, Collins & Spectre, from our side.
Yes Sir!
I hit Wyden and Merkley today with email and phone calls each.
I was able to get a human being by calling my Senator’s local office here in Southern Oregon.
When Washington is too swamped to answer, search for a local office where they can still take a call.
Call call call. If their DC office is busy - call their state offices. Fax and email too but call. Use leftover cell minutes to call.
Oh yeah, I’m really going to influence Schumer.
I’m in California and as such have had the same busy signal as you. Will keep trying.
Sickening!
Done! McCain and Kyl are getting tired of hearing from me. I think Kyl will hang in there. McCain is a “maverick” so who knows what he’ll do.
Schumer will of course vote “Yes.”
But when he goes behind closed doors and tells the rest of Leadership what a backlash this Porkulus is creating, they may take it off the table.
Summary: No call is a waste of time, even to Senators who won’t change their vote. It is about applied pressure and the other results that can occur with that pressure.
Good luck!
Please vote no on the stimulus bill.
No more protecting political donations and farming for votes.
Thank you.
Uh, no, Jim. It means they're ignoring voicemails form the people who don't exist. People like you, a conservative in a liberal wasteland.
Boxer and Finkstein don't need your support, don't care, and needn't listen.
They'll vote for it, they'll win it, and they'll win reelaction.
Just got through to Bill Nelson’s Office.Phone: 202-224-5274 and gave the assistant a full two minutes on why I expected a “NO” vote.
Moving on to Martinez now.
Done and bump
Just remember:
It's all about the children!
Both of my Alabama Senators usually do the right thing, and I can’t imagine them voting for this bill. The problem is us folks with conservative representation have a hard time influencing a liberal Senator from another state. Any ideas?
Well, that’s going to add more to the unemployment figures.
I work on one of those programs and I’ll likely lose my
job in the next few months. My hubby has been out of work
since last summer. We are 60 and 61, wonder where we can
find work now?
I’ve been dialing GOP Senator phone numbers all day today to voice strong oppostion to this bill, and encourage them to stay strong and vote NO! Many number are busy or have full voicemail boxes.
Everyone keep trying, it makes a difference!
