Obama Scares the Heck Out of Me!
Canada Free Press ^ | February 6, 2009 | Alan Caruba

Posted on 02/06/2009 10:03:57 AM PST by Zakeet

Having been around since the days of Franklin D. Roosevelt, I have seen twelve Presidents come and go prior to the $160 million coronation of Barack Hussein Obama.

I have got to tell you this guy scares the heck out of me.

I am used to guys like Harry Truman who, when the job was done, got on the train and went home without any fanfare. He was so broke Congress had to vote him a pension so he could afford to buy postage stamps. He turned away offers to sit on the boards of corporations because, as he put it, he wasn’t President anymore and he wasn’t going to sell the title for a few bucks. It’s called integrity.

[Snip]

Obama is a whole different creature. He’s half black and half white. He spent the early part of his life being raised by a Muslim stepfather in Indonesia. His actual father was from Kenya where he had another wife, was Muslim, and ended up dying in a drunken car crash because he had blown a promising career. Later Obama’s mother divorced and came home, handed the kid off to be raised by her parents, and, well, who knows?

[Snip]

[Obama]’s surrounded himself with loonies that want to take away our guns, that think coal-fired plants to generate electricity are evil (they provide over 50% of all the electricity!), wants Detroit to make cars that no one wants to buy, and to make nice with Iran while they kick sand in his face.

You need to add “Directed military prosecutors to revoked charges pending against mastermind of USS Cole bombing”

Bwahahaha! I almost choked on my onion bagel on that line.

I heard that the Republican ‘brand’ was damaged ‘beyond repair’ for the first time in 1975. I heard it again in January of 1977. I heard it again in 1992 and 1993.

It ignores the simple fact that 46 million voted for ‘the other guy’ this time around, one that spend much of the previous seven years intentionally pissing off the entire GOP base.

We also heard the same said about the Democratic Party in 1981, 1984, 1988, and again in 02, 04.

Its become something of an urban myth that is predicated on which party won the last race or two, and ignores history.

Good article, but there are a few mistakes. I don’t think Obama wrote his own books. They were ghostwritten, probably by Ayres.

This is like having Jimmah Cartah back in the White House. The only difference is, this time, it’s worse.

Look at the bright side, at least after Carter, we got Reagan. Repeat after me, 2012, 2012...

Liberals don't see their views as anti-American. They actually see it as hugely patriotic.

They see the U.S. as a sick patient that needs healing. Their world view is that we and other countries should all be the same. Be equal.

It is the communist utopia that they seek and nothing or no one will ever change that assessment except for one thing.....The school of hard knocks!

Class will be in session soon.

As for patriotism, they cannot even define it as we do because it is antithetical to their mindset.

But will there be conservative Republican candidates to run for office? Seems we keep getting stuck with “moderates” aka liberals.

[To be charitable, let’s give him a whole month in the White House and then find a way to impeach and remove him.]

Naah. Let’s not wait.

As long as there are open primaries we'll never see another conservative candidate.

I pray you are correct. We have been doing much of this for several years now. It has slowed the socialist programs down; but gradually allowed them to increase.

Somehow we need to ‘up the ante’ on Washington and its communist agenda.

Have you seen literature from the group that is opposing communism; and sending our contribution letters asking for funds: saying it is now being called and advanced through “"common-ism"”? Which is happening during this “we are all the same” attitude so prevalent today.

Interesting.

ARTICLE: " This guy is the wrong man in the wrong place at the wrong time."

****************************

Respectfully disagree. Just the opposite- he's a God-send--if you're a conservative.

Obama is the very visible symbol of everything that's been wrong in statist Washington for the past 50 years. He's the "best evidence" in the free enterprise, conservative case.

The hope is not to fixate on him--but actually use him to finally defeat the oiligarcy in Moscow on the Potomac- which is the real enemy.

The statistics in your post are bogus. This was a viral email that has been debunked by several websites, the same email circulated after the 2000 election with only the names changed to Bush and Gore. The professor that supposedly authored this information has issued a statement on his own web page that the email is fabricated.

It would be nice if this forum wasn't furthering bad information that has been floating around the internet for a decade.

Of course there will be. The past two election cycles the Republican Party tried to be ‘democrat lite’ due to insane beliefs expressed by the so called ‘moderates’.

It did not work, as most of us Conservatives noted at the time.

Just like 1976, we tried being Dem Lite, and lost.

Just like 1980, we will be who we are, the OPPOSITION, and reap the rewards that will result.

Re: Post 13...

Justa is correct, and much care should be taken in distributing these urban myths. Read the truth in Professor Olson's own words:

Joseph Olson'e Bio Page at Hamline University

DISCLAIMER: There is a series of e-mails floating around the internet dealing with the 2008 Obama/McCain election and the 2000 Bush/Gore election, remarks of a Scottish philosopher named Alexander Tyler, suicide rates, or ANYTHING ELSE. Part of it is attributed to me. It is entirely BOGUS as to my authorship. I've been trying to kill it since December 2000. For details see: http://www.snopes.com/politics/quotes/tyler.asp.

I don't see that this time around.

The reason we self destructed is largely because of divisions within our base that even with this loss and devastation shows absolutely no sign of healing.

The party was doing OK until divisive issues emerged and were pushed to the forefront by various associated and like minded groups within. These issues and issues like them were previously given less priority and were generally overlooked when they interfered with party unity which was viewed by most as being more important then the issue.

That has undeniably changed in favor of continuous churn and turmoil as various groups fight to win power and thus their issue advocacy within the party with little or no importance placed on coalition building and retention.

This mindset while not entirely new, has now become prevalent and I see no reversal, much less healing within what once was a broad based coalition of various interests with a common platform.

While nothing would please me more then a return to the Reagan era coalition, I don't believe it to be possible unless and until the damages have been mitigated by time and a new mindset reemerges.

Four years does not seem to be enough time, and much pain needs to be endured to change a mindset. This is why I said what I said.

There has been so much effort by the democrats to damage our brand that the destruction is almost 100%. They still continue to do it and I see the results right here on this forum everyday. All this has to be overcome before we can regain ground, and the dem's must self destruct as well.

6-8 years maybe, but four seems unlikely at this time and in four years, with this mess running the show, there may well be no Washington DC to reclaim.
