"ABC News has learned that on Friday, President Obama will likely order the Department of Defense's Military Commission to withdraw charges against terrorist suspect Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri. The charges may later be reinstated in a military commission or pursued in a civilian court. Al-Nashiri will remain in custody. "The announcement will not be made until after President Obama meets with the families of victims of terrorist attacks on 9/11 and on the U.S.S. Cole, where he will assure them that this step is not being done to be lenient towards al-Nashiri. The move is being done to stop the continued prosecution of al-Nashiri in a court system that his administration may ultimately find illegitimate, not for any other reason, sources told ABC News."
He's returning, as fast as possible, to the pre-9/11, Clinton law enforcement model of 'combating' terrorism. He wants the U.S. military tribunals shut down so we can run civilian-style courts. This is really an unfortunate and irresponsible maneuver, and it's certainly no way to win a war...but then that's not the objective is it. The 'War on Terror' is over, and I fear there will be no justice for those killed on board the Cole, or in other attacks.

It’s surreal isn’t it? We all knew what he was before he was elected, but to actually watch all your fears be realized right before your eyes is maddening. I live in NYC and talked till I was blue in the face about this man but it did no good.
To think this is only his first 2 weeks on the job.
Normally I would think this move to be insanely stupid, not to mention unpatriotic, however the MSM has got his back and we live in a different country, after all 64 million people voted for this leftist, so I am not so sure he won’t get away with it.

He doesn't get it. Yes, the families of the Cole are going to be insulted, but so is every sailor who ever put on the uniform. Every servicemember. I'd better shut up now because I'm so mad I can hardly type and if I keep it up I'll end up banned.
