He dares because he is dumb as a rock! He has no idea what he is unleashing. Americans everywhere should be outraged!

God rest the souls of the heroes who died.

meet with USS Cole and 9/11 families

I wonder what good this foreign born imbecile thinks will come from upsetting these folks to the point of violence.

He had better line up extra security.

“Because he’s paying back terrorist lovers who illegally financed him. Gotta pay the piper.”

I can’t disagree, but that is so obvious and so soon. He is going for all he can in as short a time as possible. Unbelievable.

He'll bring it up to them according to the article:

"The announcement will not be made until after President Obama meets with the families of victims of terrorist attacks on 9/11 and on the U.S.S. Cole, where he will assure them that this step is not being done to be lenient towards al-Nashiri. The move is being done to stop the continued prosecution of al-Nashiri in a court system that his administration may ultimately find illegitimate, not for any other reason, sources told ABC News."

What's hilarious, according to the article, is that if he allows the arraignment it would be an apparent violation of his own executive order.

I'm pretty sure this "meeting" will be with only proven leftists that voted and campaigned for him and coincidentally happened to have had relatives die in 9/11.

No chance he will be meeting with anybody that is not predictably "safe"

2012 can't get here fast enough! I dream of the day I get to vote for Sarah Palin for President and evict the Obamas from the White House. Even Trig Palin would make a better president than the Chicago thug who now occupies the Oval Office.

McCain certainly would not have caused a backbone strengthening in the Republicans.

He should never have been the GOP nominee. He became so because (a) conservatives couldn't rally around one realistic candidate, and (b) the open primary system. But that is a debate for another day. Last year, it was OBVIOUS to anyone paying attention who and what Obama is, but he got elected anyway. It's of little comfort that McCain wouldn't have been much better on a few issues. He most definitely would not be selling this nation out to the Islamofacists and Euroweenies. In any case, it's a moot point since we're stuck with Obama for 4 long, dangerous years.

And yet I have no idea of the logic behind this, what is going to be extremely unpopular, move.

The best observation yet. What is his rationale? What does he expect to accomplish?

I doubt that this move has anything to do with the good of the country -- it is, on its face, stupid. There is nothing in it for the country. Nothing good, that is.

So, what does Obama gain from this surely controversial decision (though probably not nearly as controversial we think it should be)?

It’s surreal isn’t it? We all knew what he was before he was elected, but to actually watch all your fears be realized right before your eyes is maddening. I live in NYC and talked till I was blue in the face about this man but it did no good.

To think this is only his first 2 weeks on the job.

Obama doesn't give a s*it about their opinions. He's looking to peel off at least one or two articulate TV-worthy allies from among the familes. He wants them to go out and give him cover by shilling for his Guantanamo and terrorism policies.

This move shows Obama's solidarity with the Arab world. There is no other message that can be gleaned from it.
