Support for the economic recovery plan working its way through Congress has fallen again this week. For the first time, a plurality of voters nationwide oppose the $800-billion-plus plan.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found that 37% favor the legislation, 43% are opposed, and 20% are not sure.
Two weeks ago, 45% supported the plan. Last week, 42% supported it.
Opposition has grown from 34% two weeks ago to 39% last week and 43% today.
Sixty-four percent (64%) of Democrats still support the plan. That figure is down from 74% a week ago. Just 13% of Republicans and 27% of those not affiliated with either major party agree.
Seventy-two percent (72%) of Republicans oppose the plan along with 50% of unaffiliated voters and 16% of Democrats.
Related survey data shows that half the nations voters say the plan that finally emerges from Congress may end up doing more harm than good.

Despite the declining support, 78% say it is at least somewhat likely that the economic recovery package proposed by President Obama and congressional Democrats will become law during Obama's first 100 days in office. That figure includes 36% who say passage is Very Likely. That latter figure is down significantly from a week ago when 52% said passage of the legislation was Very Likely.

Obama’s Titanic....
This is BS, polls are rigged, they know who and when to call.
Just because this stimulus plan is written into law, does not mean it is going to work.
Or rather, it shall work all right, but the results shall be dramatically different than expectations.
Look for another round of lowered expectations being placed there for us to live down to.
It’s not Great Depression II.
Yet.
But it could be.
bttt
Somebody needs to photoshop Obama and Pelosi into the picture of DiCaprio and Winslet doing the “King of the World” scene from Titanic
It all depends. Will the Senate listen to their constituents OR listen to their lib cronies from ACORN and the unions?
Gee, even with the LeftMedia and the vast majority of conservatives referring to this Expansion of Government Plan by its lying name of “The Stimulus Plan”, it still is meeting disfavor.
And with the same Idiot Public who voted in the boutique President in the first place. Why are they surprised? Just what in the hell did they think they were voting for?
“Seventy-two percent (72%) of Republicans oppose the plan along with 50% of unaffiliated voters and 16% of Democrats.”
SO indicative of how out-of-touch the ‘rats are about this (along with everything else).
Discussions about anti-depressants are up over 100% at Dumpsterunderground.com! These people have come down very hard, very fast. LOL!
Ras is a respectable polling firm. This doesnt look like pollaganda but a real number - and good news for Republicans.
We can make the Democrats eat crow and pay in 2010 for ramming this cr*p through Congress.
I don't buy into that crap, I interviewed with Arbitron, didn't like them either.
They're libs and they know who and when to poll to get the results their customers desire.
No theyre not. What are you talking about? I think you stand alone on this. Back it up, give us a link.
When a seller tries to pressure me to sign on the bottom line without a thorough review, I walk away. This same idea is being used in Congress. Vote quickly before the peeps find out what is in this bill.
Thankfully, the House Republicans said, “No. Let’s look at what is in here first.” The Senate is following the lead and is in a frenzy putting things in, taking things out. While they work, the taxpayer is treated to the contents of the bill. . . stuff like money for doorknobs, solar water heaters in Puerto Rico, STD education, ACORN money, etc.
Pelosi’s House is a mess. A lot of fun to watch if we didn’t have to pay the eventual price tag.
Would everyone PLEASE stop calling this a “stimulus” plan.
Less than 10% of the money in this bill will be spent in the first year. That’s the only part that could economically be considered stimulus.
IT IS NOT A STIMULUS BILL!!
You want a link to my personal observation and experience?
They know when, where and who to poll. Like journalism, it's Who, What, When, Where, and How.
SOP
BTW, my phone never rings with a call from a pollster, unless it's a fraud sales call. Like I said, they know who and when to call to get their desired results.
Guy wakes up after a night of drunken revelry to see lying next to him a fat homely woman with a tooth missing. "Oh god!" he groans, "Who are you?"
"I don't know who I am today" she snorts, "but last night I was your Polynesian princess!"
I think the poople thought they were voting for Luau's and MaiTai's on the beach.
